Banana Ball Is Coming Back to Walt Disney World in 2027, Plus a Banana Ball Documentary Is Headed to Disney+ and Hulu

October 15, 2026

Get your dancing shoes ready! Banana Ball is returning to Walt Disney World next year with the brand new Banana Ball Open, a four day tournament and fan celebration at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. And that’s not all. A music driven Banana Ball documentary is coming to Disney+ and Hulu in fall 2027.

Both announcements were made during tonight’s Banana Ball Selection Show on ESPN2, where the league revealed its full 2027 schedule.

The Banana Ball Open at Walt Disney World

The Banana Ball Open takes place April 15 to 18, 2027, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando. It’s a four day, four game Banana Ball experience, and all six Banana Ball teams will be there, with four teams going head to head on the field.

This will be the second time Banana Ball has taken over Walt Disney World. Earlier this year, the complex hosted two games in front of packed crowds, and if you’ve ever been to a Banana Ball game, you know the energy is unlike anything else in sports. Fans are right in the middle of the action, and there’s a good chance you’ll be dancing in your seat all night long.

How to Get Tickets to the Banana Ball Open

Tickets start at $35, and like every Banana Ball game, they’re sold through the Ticket Lottery List.

  • Sign up: Visit BananaBall.com to join the Ticket Lottery List.
  • Deadline: The list is open now through October 31, 2026.
  • How it works: The drawing is completely random, so when you sign up doesn’t affect your chances. Joining the list doesn’t guarantee tickets, but if you’re selected, you’ll get the chance to buy them and be contacted directly with next steps.

If you’ve been hoping to see Banana Ball in person, a Walt Disney World vacation in April 2027 might be the perfect excuse.

A Banana Ball Documentary Is Coming to Disney+ and Hulu

Can’t make it to Orlando? Banana Ball is coming to you, too. A new documentary will stream on Disney+ and Hulu in fall 2027.

The film follows Banana Ball’s 10 year journey, from its humble beginnings in Savannah, Georgia, to the phenomenon now known as “The Greatest Show in Sports.” It gives fans an inside look at the stories, personalities, and community that made Banana Ball what it is today.

The documentary is directed by David Beilinson and produced by Connor Schell’s Words + Pictures and Benj Pasek and Justin Paul’s Ampersand.

And here’s the part that makes this one truly special: it’s a music driven documentary with 11 original songs from Pasek and Paul, the EGOT winning songwriters behind The Greatest Showman, La La Land, and Dear Evan Hansen. Additional songwriters include Ashley Gorley, Cal Shapiro, Ben Johnson, Adam Yaron, Jake Sinclair, Brandon Bomer, Jarius Jones, and Savannah Bananas owner Jesse Cole.

For a team that’s famous for dancing players, viral moments, and putting on a show, a documentary filled with original songs feels like a perfect fit.

Banana Ball and Disney Keep Growing Together

The Banana Ball Open and the documentary are the latest in a growing list of collaborations between Banana Ball and Disney:

  • The Banana Bowl, the league’s championship, streamed live on Disney+ and Disney’s YouTube channel
  • Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson is competing on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars
  • Savannah Bananas games streamed live across ESPN and Disney+
  • Savannah Bananas Day at the Disneyland Resort in California
  • A Banana Ball game at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World
  • A marquee summer event at Dunkin’ Park in Hartford, Connecticut, near ESPN’s headquarters

From the parks to streaming to the ballroom on Dancing with the Stars, Banana Ball has become one of Disney’s most fun partnerships, and 2027 is shaping up to be its biggest year yet.
