Disney Imagination: Disney Cruise Line’s First Ship Sailing from Japan

Big news for cruise fans! Disney just revealed the name of the first Disney cruise ship that will sail from Japan: the Disney Imagination.
Beginning in spring 2029, the Disney Imagination will set sail from Tokyo. Disney describes it as a ship powered by creativity and optimism, inviting families to experience the imagination at the heart of Disney storytelling like never before.

Here is the part I love! A signature tradition on every Disney Cruise Line ship is the character featured on the stern, and the Disney Imagination is getting Ariel. She will take her place alongside Sebastian and friends from under the sea, using her beloved dinglehopper to create the ship’s name in a playful tribute to her curiosity and adventurous spirit. I mean, that’s pretty adorable.

A quick note on how this works behind the scenes: the Disney Imagination will be the first ship in Disney Cruise Line Japan, a Disney branded cruise business operated by Oriental Land Co., the company that owns and operates Tokyo Disney Resort under license from Disney. It builds on a relationship that has been creating unforgettable Disney experiences for guests in Japan for decades.

Spring 2029 feels far away, but for Disney cruise fans, a whole new ship in a whole new home port is worth the wait.

When Disney Imagination Sets Sail, You Can Enjoy:

• Disney storytelling from bow to stern
• Broadway-style entertainment exclusive to Disney Cruise Line
• Opportunities to connect with your favorite Disney characters
• Food and beverage experiences
• Dedicated spaces for kids, tweens, and teens
• Exclusive adult-only areas for relaxation
• The exceptional service and hospitality Disney Cruise Line is known for!

For adventure, family fun, or relaxation at sea, Disney Imagination will have countless opportunities to make magical memories together. Stay tuned to The Main Street Mouse for updates!
