Your home is about to get a lot more fun. Disney has teamed up with Swedish artist and designer Gustaf Westman on a new home decor collection inspired by Mickey and Friends. The first pieces were just revealed, and one of them is a sofa shaped like Mickey Mouse.
Who Is Gustaf Westman?
If you follow interior design on social media, you’ve probably seen Gustaf Westman’s work, even if you didn’t know his name. The Swedish designer is known for his bold, playful, sculptural style. He takes everyday objects like mugs, mirrors, and furniture and turns them into chunky, colorful statement pieces. His designs are a favorite with maximalists and collectors who want their homes to feel joyful and a little unexpected.
That makes him a natural fit for Mickey and Friends.
The First Three Pieces
Mickey Mouse Tumbler. A twist on Westman’s signature glazed ceramic Chunky Tumbler, done in Mickey’s classic red, black, and yellow. The best part is the lid, which is topped with Mickey’s ears.
Mickey Mouse Cup. A black ceramic cup paired with a Mickey Mouse shaped saucer. It’s simple, bold, and instantly recognizable as Mickey.
Mickey Mouse Sofa. The showstopper of the collection is a black leather sofa shaped like Mickey Mouse. It’s honestly closer to a piece of sculpture than ordinary furniture, and it’s sure to be the conversation piece of any room.
Subtle Disney Details
What makes this collection special is how Westman brought the characters to life. Instead of printing faces or graphics on each piece, he leaned on the shapes, colors, and silhouettes fans know by heart: Mickey’s ears, Minnie’s polka dots, Donald Duck’s bowtie, and each character’s signature colors.
It’s Disney decor for grown ups. You’ll know it’s Mickey the second you see it, but it still fits right into a stylish, modern home.
Westman is a longtime Disney fan himself, and he visited Disneyland Paris for inspiration before designing the collection.
When Can You Buy It?
Disney hasn’t announced prices, a release date, or where the collection will be sold yet. More pieces are also on the way, so we may see designs inspired by Minnie, Donald, and the rest of the gang soon. We’ll update this post as soon as Disney shares more details.
