When the pandemic hit in 2020, Cristie’s family decided they were going to surround themselves in magic by purchasing a 3,600-square-foot home in Golden Oak at Walt Disney World. Here’s a look inside their enchanted home, suited for a princess!
Cristie Anne Cabrera’s parents had been wanting to purchase a vacation home for a while. Cristie and her husband have a five-year-old daughter and live about three and a half hours away in Miami. However, a perfect middle ground for the family was in Orlando, which just happened to be the home of Walt Disney World. Naturally, where else would Disney fans look than the highly coveted Golden Oak community?
The home was built to resemble Belle’s cottage in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.” For those not familiar, all of the homes found in Golden Oak were designed by Walt Disney Imagineering, the Walt Disney Company division that oversees the design and construction of its theme parks.
The cottage Cristie and her family’s vacation home is located in is called The Cottages at Symphony Grove neighborhood. All of the homes there have their own whimsical look. Not to mention, 50 hidden Mickey Mouses, which visitors to the home love trying to find every time they visit.
The first floor is styled as a French cottage. The kitchen and dining room are finished with wooden beams and other countryside accents.
Upstairs is where the house becomes more Disney-themed. On the second floor, Cristie’s bedroom has a quote from “Beauty and the Beast” above the bed.

Cristie’s brother’s room has “Winnie the Pooh” characters hand-painted on the walls.
The bunkbed room (a.k.a. the “Bambi” room) is tiny but full of beautiful details like wood-paneled walls and a small nightlight for each bed.
The home also features a spiral staircase on the second floor that leads to “Belle’s Reading Room” on the third floor.

The home also has reclaimed wood beams on the ceilings, hand-painted drawings on the walls, a built-in bookshelf, and the same railing as the staircase on the windows.
Additionally, the house contains a guest suite that connects to the home through the outdoor patio. That whole area looks like a princess suite, thanks to a few Disney touches like the “Alice in Wonderland” doorknob.

In addition to all these amazing attributes, the house also features a small pool and jacuzzi. Attached to this is a patio area with a dining table for six, a sitting area with a couch and chairs, a fireplace and an outdoor kitchen.
