Two-Part Documentary Follows The Prince of Wales As He Launches His Homewards Program Across The U.K.
Today, Disney+ announced that “Prince William: We Can End Homelessness” will premiere Nov 1 on the streaming platform. The two-part documentary gives an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the first year of Prince William and The Royal Foundation’s Homewards program which aims to change perceptions and demonstrate that it’s possible to end homelessness.
The documentary is executive produced by Mindhouse and Arron Fellows and directed by BAFTA award-winning Director Leo Burley. Before launching on Disney+, “Prince William: We Can End Homelessness,” will debut exclusively in the U.K. on ITV1, ITVX and STV.
“We Can End Homelessness” follows the first year of Homewards, Prince William’s ambitious five-year program that aims to show it is possible to end homelessness, by working with six locations across the U.K. This series goes behind-the-scenes as Prince William launches his new initiative, and grants unique access as he sets to work to combat the crisis. Viewers will see him draw on the guidance of people who have experienced homelessness across a series of moving encounters, and in candid interviews, the Prince shares the inspiration he has taken from the example of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. After recruiting his dedicated Homewards team to investigate the issue across the UK, The Prince takes action as he plans to build supported housing on his own land.

Founded by Prince William and The Royal Foundation in June 2023, Homewards is a transformative, locally led programme, that aims to demonstrate that it’s possible to end homelessness, making it rare, brief and unrepeated. Over five years, Homewards is working with six flagship locations across the UK, [Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, Lambeth in London, Newport, Northern Ireland, Sheffield] to provide them with the space, tools and expertise to deliver and demonstrate innovative solutions that can prevent and end homelessness, creating tried and tested models that can be scaled. Homewards will also raise awareness of the breadth and complexities of homelessness through national campaigns, local storytelling and by placing those with lived experience at the heart of this work. Inspired by success stories in countries such as Finland and innovative projects in the UK, Homewards will show that by working together we can change the narrative, galvanise momentum, and drive forward lasting change to end homelessness for good.
