As both the Walt Disney World Parks in Florida and the Disneyland Parks in California see an increase in fights and other altercations the Walt Disney Company has updated both of their resort’s websites with a behavior warning.
One might think both the most magical and happiest places in the world would be free of both verbal and physical altercations. However, this is not the case–especially these past few years where we’ve seen an increase in both. So much so that a few have even been caught on cell phone cameras in video form and shared all over the internet.
In an attempt to reduce and hopefully eliminate these issues from these magical places both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland websites have been updated with new courtesy sections in their “Know Before You Go” sections warning parkgoers to show respect to all guests and cast members.
For California parkgoers, Disneyland’s warning reads, “We ask all who come to this happy place to treat others with respect, kindness and compassion. To help guests have a safe and enjoyable experience, we regularly update our Disneyland resort rules.”
Additionally, in the property rules section, the park asks that guests show “common courtesy” to other guests and cast members (employees) by “not using profanity or engaging in unsafe, illegal, disruptive or offensive behavior, jumping lines or saving places in lines for others.”
Walt Disney World in Florida shares a similar message encouraging guests to “be the magic you want to see in the world” and to always treat others with respect, kindness and compassion. The park warns those who can’t live up to the “simple wish” will be asked to leave the resort.
