Campsites, cookouts, and golf carts. What do these three things have in common? They can all be found at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground! So pack your RV, or just your Mickey Mouse suitcase, and join us at this charming resort area found at Walt Disney World Resort.
Campsites and Cabins
RVers will enjoy the ability to choose from several different types of campsites. Premium, premium
meadow, full hook-up, preferred and even tent or pop-up campsites are available for guests to choose from. Vacationing in a larger RV is not a problem here as premium campsites can accommodate equipment on a concrete pad up to 18 feet by 60 feet!
If a camper or RV is not how you roll, have no fear as this resort offers guests the option of staying in adorable, rustic cabins. The cabins come complete with a kitchen that includes not only a refrigerator and dishwasher but also a convection/microwave oven and two countertop burners. We can almost smell the bacon sizzling from here. Are you more of a griller when it comes to camping? The cabins also come with a charcoal grill. All you need to bring is the charcoal and the burgers and dinner is served. Lastly, we want to emphasize how much room the cabins offer. Sleeping up to six adults, the cabins include one queen bed, one bunk bed and one double-size sleeper sofa. Who gets the top bunk will be a decision we will leave up to you!
Transportation
Another wonderful perk of staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is the many options guests have when it comes to transportation. A short boat ride can take guests to Magic Kingdom Park, and bus stops can be found throughout the entire resort area. Bikes and golf carts may also be rented to check out the beautiful property.
Dining
When the dinner bell rings, guests will not be at a loss for food options! Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, P & J’s Southern Takeout is the place for grabbing some grub to take back to your campsite and get those bellies full for a day in the parks. Weary travelers come from all parts looking for that all-you-care-to-enjoy skillet. That scrumptious meal can be found at Trail’s End Restaurant. But don’t forget they are only open for breakfast and dinner!
Okay partners, now it’s time to talk about the one and only dining experience that comes complete with a hilarious stage show here at the Fort Wilderness Resort. Yes siree, we are talking about the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review. The Pioneer Hall Players are ready to entertain your party, and perhaps even invite a few of them to join them on stage, all while enjoying a delectable, tummy-rubbing, toe-tapping feast. But hold up, partners – this dining experience returns on June 23, 2022, and reservations will be available beginning May 26, 2022.
Recreation
If you are looking for a watering hole to cool off and maybe even catch a little shut-eye, you will find two at Fort Wilderness Resort. Meadow Swimmin’ Pool is located near the center of the resort. Here you will find a water slide, splash pad and even a snack bar. Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool is located in the cabins area but be sure to pack your cooler as there are no food offerings at this pool.
Activities galore can also be found here for the young and young at heart. Fort Wilderness Archery Experience is available for guests ages 7 and up and offers those participating the chance to learn how to use a compound bow. The planDisney panelists also can’t say enough about a visit to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch! Take some time for a carriage ride, trail ride or just go admire Cinderella’s beautiful ponies. Biking, fishing, and watching Movies Under the Stars are also offered at this resort that seems to have it all!
