I recently attended the Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld. I became a passholder last year and totally missed out on this event. For those that are unfamiliar it is, (as said),
There are 24 special kiosks located around the park. Each is specially themed and offers tastings specific to that theme. Just to name a few: Caribbean Market, Asian Market, Gulf Coast Market, Mama’s Pretzel Kitchen, and Taste of Sicily. This should give you a great idea of the variety.
Each weekend there are also specialty concerts that take place in the theatre. You would need to check the website for what is available each weekend. We happened to see a tribute artist that performed songs from Donna Summer and Whitney Houston. She was good and for a free concert it was enjoyable.
For those familiar with Disney’s Food and Wine Festival I am going to say that this is a cut above. (Take away my mouse ears). The portions alone are easy to share. They are not just tastings but a plateful. SeaWorld offers tasting lanyards that I wish Disney would think of. You can get a lanyard that offers a 10-item tasting for $65. This includes any 10 food, brew wine or specialty drink samples. For $80 you can get a 15-item tasting. As a passholder there is a special 15 +3 item tasting for the same $80. This is a deal. At an average price of a sample for $10.99 you easily save money with the lanyard.
So, what did my wife and I enjoy:
We actually started with a cocktail at the Flamecraft Bar ( Location1), then visited the Caribbean Market (5) for a Montego Bay Spicy Shrimp Skewer and a Jerk Chicken Slider. Then off to the All-American Market (6) for some Lobster/White Cheddar Mac-n-Cheese. That was 3 tastings overall. We bought the cocktails at our first stop. We were stuffed. Enjoyed some SeaWorld activities including the afternoon concert. Then I tried the Crispy Rueben Egg Roll and a Irish Cold Brew at the Ireland Market (18) and we went off to the Mediterranean Market (14) for some Hummus with Parmesan Kettle Chips and a Berry Panna Cotta. Seven tastings done. More SeaWorld fun and then finished off at the Gulf Coast Market (22) for Rum Glazed Bananas Foster Beignets and a Specialty Hurricane cocktail. Total of 9 tastings out of 18 on our lanyard. We will be returning to finish off the lanyard before festival end. However, you can see what I mean about the value. We were filled but even if we only did those 9 tastings, we came out ahead.
I encourage you to check out the festival. It is a great add on to a day at SeaWorld.
