Arrival Day Ideas-What To Do Without A Park Ticket

The time has come! You have traveled by car, bus, train, or plane and now you are there! You have arrived at Walt Disney World! Let the magic begin!

But what should you do first? The possibilities are endless and can be overwhelming. The first and obvious one is to hit one of the four theme parks or two waterparks. What if you don’t have a park ticket though? Maybe you only have part of a day but still want some magic? Read on for some fun ideas to get your vacation started!

Spend some time at your resort. Disney resorts are known for their fabulous theming. They are a great place to spend some time, especially if your room isn’t quite ready yet.  Take some time to explore your surroundings and take some pictures. Look around the giftshop, grab a bite to eat in the food court or hit the pool. Florida weather is great for swimming and the resort pools are a great way to cool off.

Enjoy some resort activities. They offer things like pool games, tie dying and movies under the stars. Many resorts offer campfires where you can even make a Smore! The check in desk will have a schedule for you to look over.

Go to Disney Springs. Disney Springs is the huge shopping and dining area on Disney property. You can either hop on a bus or boat from your resort or drive and park in one of the parking lots. Disney Springs is divided into four sections: Marketplace, The Landing, Town Center, and West Side. Each area has their own unique style and has something for everyone in the family. There are places to eat for every appetite and any Disney souvenir you could possibly want!

Book a character meal. There are several restaurants outside of the parks that let you eat and visit with some of your favorite Disney pals. The characters there and the offerings can vary, so check the dining section of the Disney website for the most current information.

Take a ride on the monorail or the skyliner. If you are staying at a resort on the monorail or skyliner, I highly recommend taking them for a spin. You don’t have to enter a theme park to ride either of them. It lets you see parts of Disney you might not have seen otherwise.

Play a round of golf at one of the Disney golf courses or in golf courses.

Do some Pin Trading. Disney trading is like a treasure hunt! You will find places to trade without even leaving your resort. Ask at the check in desk and the gift shop.

What do you like to do on your arrival day? Do you hit the ground running in a park or start at a slower pace? I hope this gave you some fun ideas!
