I have been waiting patiently in Minnesota for my chance to try out Gideons Bakehouse at Disney Springs, and I finally got my chance!
I made it a priority for my trip and woke up very excited! I hopped onto a bus from All Star Movies at around 9:40 am, ready for an adventure! I arrived at Disney Springs at around 10:10. The busses drop off conveniently close to my goal-Gideons Bakeshop. The line had already started forming, as it had opened at 10:00. The wonderful cast member told me that is would be around a 30 minute wait, but it was moving quickly. She handed me a menu and I jumped in line. The line was outside in the mid-morning sun, but I was prepared with sunscreen, sunglasses, and an umbrella.
Having the menu ahead of time was very helpful. I knew I wanted to try the special cookie for Flavors of Florida, which is Key Lime Chocolate Chip. Since I was there right away in the morning, the cast member suggested I also try the Coffee Cake cookie. It is their most popular one and they only make a few hundred a day. When they are gone, they are gone. How could I not?
The line moved quickly and before I knew it, I was inside! The theming inside is very cute. So many things to look at, including display cases with the huge ½ pound cookies. They were all so tempting! Within minutes I had my order and was back outside, ready to dig in.
The specialty cookie was awesome! It was a nice fresh chocolate chip cookie that had a hint of key lime flavor. It was not overwhelming, just added a fun flavor. If you are in Disney Springs while the Flavors of Florida, make sure you give it a try!
The coffee cake cookie was the perfect morning treat. I can see why they are so popular and sell out right away. I am so glad I listened to the cast member!
Since theses cookie are giant, I took the leftovers with me and enjoyed them for the next 2 days. I would definitely recommend a stop at Gideons during your next trip to Disney Springs. I know I’ll be back!
