Friday is no longer the day for the premiere of new original TV episodes on Disney+ of our favorite original series. The magical streaming service is officially changing its weekly launch date of new shows like “Loki” to Wednesday.
Following the release of “Loki,” the series quickly became the most-watched series premiere for Marvel and Disney+ combined–which may be the main reason why the company is moving the release of its new episodes to Wednesdays. In fact, the company saw such a great turnout of viewers it’s already moving the releases of upcoming Disney+ original series.
Upcoming shows that will make the switch to Wednesdays include “Monsters at Work,” “Turner & Hooch,” “Behind the Attraction,” “Chip ‘n’ Dale: Park Life,” “Turning the Tables with Robin Roberts,” “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse,” “Growing Up Animal,” and “Short Circuit.” It’s not yet confirmed, but more than likely this release day will also probably apply to other future series including “Hawkeye” and “Ms. Marvel.”
For those who haven’t already tuned into the new series following the God of Mischief, it takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Kate Herron directs and Michael Waldron is head writer. Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant.
Upon its original announcement, the series was only set to have a single season with six episodes. However, the series has already been approved for a second season which has been reported to already be in development. The current series takes place in Phase 4 of the MCU. It is not known when the second season will take place or premiere on the streaming service.
