New Stars Confirmed to Return to “Enchanted” Sequel “Disenchanted”

March 29, 2021 ,

In December, Disney fans everywhere were enchanted with the spellbinding news that the entertainment company would be bringing Giselle (played by Amy Adams) back to the big screen in a sequel by the name of “Disenchanted.” Today, more major stars have been confirmed to be returning to the sequel and we’re levitating with all of this magical news!

Indina Menzel (who played Nancy Tremaine) and James Marsden (who played Prince Edward) will be returning to reprise their roles in the new movie! The news comes via a recent interview with composer Alan Menken. The interview, embedded below, comes from JLGB Virtual.

Patrick Dempsey has already said he’d return to reprise his role as Robert Philip–so with the addition of these two stars, this sequel will more than likely be perfect.

Per Menken’s remarks in the interview, it seems the sequel film is already filming and the movie should be coming to screens either later this year or sometime in 2022. Of course, 2022 is probably more likely given the fact that the film has just recently started shooting.

Below is the premise for the new film, according to the its IMDB page:

Ten years after her happily ever after, Giselle questions her happiness, inadvertently turning the lives of those in the real world and Andalasia upside down in the process.

Besides this small blurb of info, not much else is known about the sequel film.

The first film hit theaters back in 2007, where we first met Giselle from the fairy-tale land of Andalasia. In the movie, Giselle falls in love with the handsome Prince Edward, but when Giselle arrives at the castle to marry her Prince Charming, his evil stepmother sends the princess-to-be to a place where there are `no happy ever afters’: New York City. Cynical divorce lawyer Robert comes to her rescue–who she ends up falling for instead.
