Theme park goers–make sure to book your reservations now through the end of February as Walt Disney World is officially decreasing its hours of operations by a full hour at all four theme parks beginning next month.
Starting next month, each of Disney’s four parks (Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Epcot) will all be open one less hour each day.
Magic Kingdom and Epcot will be closing an hour earlier at the end of the day, while Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom will open one hour later each morning. Currently, Magic Kingdom and Epcot operate from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Beginning next month, they will operate 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Currently, both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s operation hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Next month these will change from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This news comes following our recent report that the Walt Disney World Resort is currently planning to extend its theme park reservation system into 2023.
For those not familiar, following the reopening of the Walt Disney World theme parks last year on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, the resort implemented a reservation system requiring all guests to book a reservation at their desired Disney park of choice prior to the day of their visit as a means to limit guest capacity.
The idea behind the system was that the theme parks would not have to turn guests away at the turnstiles because park goers would know prior to leaving their hotel or house if they’d have a spot that day in the park. Upon its premiere, the system was meant to be temporary–or at least until Disney World was no longer limiting its capacity to smaller than pre-covid days.
