Hey Friends! It’s that time again…. let’s catch up and talk about what’s been happening!
Since we talked last week, things here have been so busy. But I always say that busy is good! We got a new shipment of magical face masks for Lost Princess Apparel, which always is time consuming. There is a lot of work that goes into running your own clothing business, but face mask shipments always take a while to inventory and prepare. My friends (and staffers! Mel and Lizz came to help with the new merch, which was very much appreciated. Because…. Sunday was the first Live on Location show of the year!
The last time we had The Main Street Mouse Live on Location was back in October for our 10 year anniversary celebration. It was such a great show at the House of Blues that we kicked off the new year there too! Because of capacity restrictions plus the holiday season, we took November and December off. I wasn’t nervous really, just felt a bit out of practice. However, by the time I said “Helloooo Disney Springs” and sat at the host table for the audience, I was fine! We had been working hard and preparing for the show at the House of Blues, weeks ahead of time. I always get myself twisted up about it because I value the relationship I have with Disney Springs and always want to do a good job. John sat out this month, but I did get the amazing Mark Daniel to fill in as my cohost. Mark and I have done broadcasts together before so I felt comfortable having him up there with me. He has such a long and fascinating career with Disney, so our audience really enjoyed hearing some of his stories. The show went well and people had a great time. I’m already looking forward to the next one!
On Monday we went back to the Springs to get some photos, plus Scott was wanting to go back to Everglazed Donuts. Ugh, those donuts! They are beyond fabulous so it’s hard to have them around while trying to stay on a diet. They’re HUGE and definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area! I think these Disney calories do indeed count though!
Yesterday, we met some friends for lunch to talk business at Universal Studios, Margaritaville! It was SO vacant over there yesterday, not crowded whatsoever! Universal Orlando hit capacity almost weekly at some point since before the holidays. We never went to see their Christmas festivities because they kept hitting capacity. I know that Disney fans tease about Universal Studios being the “dark side” but they really are great parks. We saw them testing their new roller coaster in the Jurassic Park area, the VelociCoaster. There is no opening date yet but it looks pretty awesome. Smooth ride but lots of twists, I’ll take motion sickness medication and go on it anyway! Looks exciting!
Well, I believe that’s it for this week. I’m not sure what else is on the agenda but we will talk about it next time! Until then, sending you love, blessings and pixie dust! See ya real soon! -M
