In 2020, Disney fans went crazy over the monthly merch release, Minnie Mouse the Main Attraction. This collection featured a different theme each month, all limited edition items. It was shopping hysteria. It appears that more frenzy is on tap in 2021 with the new “Stitch Crashes Disney” Collection. This new monthly collectible will celebrate Stitch, with a different movie theme each time.
It will begin with a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Beauty and the Beast. The first release in the series will include Stitch decorated with the iconic roses and stained-glass artwork from the princess classic.
Because of the Minnie Main Attraction and other high demand items, Disney started using MerchPass on shopDisney for new releases. Shoppers can find the first Stitch collection on MerchPass on Jan. 12 at 7 a.m. PST and at all domestic Disney parks on Jan. 16. All MerchPass purchases include a Stitch plush, a pin, and an exclusive MagicBand. Limited film-inspired mugs and T-shirts will also be available on the Thursday after each MerchPass sale.
Each month a new themed Stitch will be added. So far, we know to expect Stitch to crash into Lady and the Tramp, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Pinnochio, and Aladdin. What are your thoughts on the new monthly Stitch collectibles? Do you think this will be as popular as the Minnie line was?
