Disney Announces Reopening Dates for Closed Disney World Resorts

Are you looking to book a Walt Disney World vacation? Well, now is your chance as Disney World has officially announced the reopening of its resort hotels that closed earlier this year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic!

It’s worth noting that not all of the resorts will be reopening in unison. Additionally, stays at select resorts will only be available to Disney Vacation Club members. Below is the official list of the reopening dates from Disney:

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort: March 22, 2021
Disney’s Beach Club Resort: May 30, 2021
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge: June 6, 2021
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort: Summer 2021

Guests can begin booking as early as today! However, with this announcement, the company has also stated that these reopening dates are subject to change, and reservations could still be modified to other hotels if needed.

As we shared earlier this year, Disney’s Polynesian Resort is currently undergoing some renovations. Specifically, an all-new and enhanced entryway that is set to debut just in time for the resort’s 50th anniversary.

These enhancements include a new porte cochere, which will showcase the iconic mid-20th century architecture the Polynesian is famous for. The entryway will feature a high-pitched, open truss roof covered in a thatch style. It will also feature a bold facade that features pops of color complementing the Longhouses found throughout the resort.

Along the Monorail station, bold new wooden screens will be covered with geometric patterns in bright, tropical colors that will complete the exciting new composition that will greet guests as they arrive. Other new changes include enhancements to the gardens and fountains that have welcomed guests to the resort since opening day.

Will you be booking a Walt Disney World vacation at one of these resorts upon their reopening in the next few months? Let us know in the comments!
