Well hello there. It’s been awhile hasn’t it? Our Wednesday night chat has kind of been on hiatus for a while, so I figured it was time to finally catch up. We have a lot to talk about so let’s get going!
I feel like I have been somewhat of an absent friend, as we are all friends here. Actually I have felt that way for months, as this year has been quite a roller coaster. The parks reopened in July and I’ve been lucky to be able to somewhat get back to work. Last week was the first media event I had been to since March, due to everything shutting down of course. It was nice to have some of that back! We have been going to the parks as much as we can, when we can get a reservation, and it certainly is a whole new world at Disney. It’s honestly not a bad thing, just different. The wait times are not bad for attractions at all. It’s also not crowded when walking around, Magic Kingdom has been great. As far as safety concerns, I really feel that Disney has done a great job and feel completely safe when I go with my family. Again, it’s just a different experience. I keep telling my boys to enjoy the low crowds while they can because eventually things will be crowded with people shoulder to shoulder again. Hopefully “normal” isn’t too far off. In the meantime though, I’m just happy to have a little bit of the magic back and will take whatever we can get! Another plus is that Halloween merch is out at WDW, which is something I always look forward to! So fun!
More bits of normal life started up again in July with our live shows at Disney Springs. The most recent one was just this past Sunday at Raglan Road and it went very well. We had safety guidelines in place, I even did a seating chart so that people who were together or from the same family could sit at the same table. We have to take extra precautions but it really is nice to be able to do the show in front of a live audience again. Our big meet up weekend is coming in October and we have a huge show planned at House of Blues on the 25th. October 24th is at Epcot. It’s the 10 year anniversary of The Main Street Mouse, so we have plans to celebrate! Yes things are different, but we are going to do our best to make sure everyone has a good time & to celebrate 10 wonderful years of this amazing Disney community! Praying it all goes well! Speaking of praying…
This year has been such an eye-opener for so many of us, myself included. Being stuck at home, seeing things unfold for small businesses, made us have to make some difficult choices. I’m always praying for the right answer and I think and hope that we have it. We recently got an office building as sort of the headquarters for The Main Street Mouse and Lost Princess Apparel. Instead of being a distributor of clothing for others, we have launched our own line. The office is decorated of course with Tangled touches everywhere. I have even designed my own shirt line! Each month it will be a limited edition of the new design and each print will have some sort of meaning to me. The first print sold fast so I feel pretty blessed about that! We have been working so hard but our supporters have been wonderful and we are so excited to start on this new adventure. I know for me I have grown so much this year and have changed for the better. I think that’s all we can do, just do better. Starting another venture is scary of course, but if I really think about it so has everything we have done in the past six years. Honestly if we don’t at least try to achieve our dreams then we are left with wondering what would’ve happened if we did. This is just the beginning but I am hopeful that it’s the start of something good. I will attach our video announcement below so you can see the new office and line!
Well that’s about it for this week. Again my apologies for taking so long to check in. I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. I appreciate all the love and support that you give us as always. Until next time, sending you love, blessings and pixie dust. See you real soon! -M
