This weeks update just happens to fall on our sixth anniversary of moving to Florida. It’s still hard for me to believe that it’s been that long in some ways, but in others not so much. It’s like it was meant to be! Here’s what I wrote on my author page on Facebook today-
“And with every passing hour, I’m so glad I left my tower.”
SIX years ago today we arrived in Florida and began our new lives. At the time my goal was just to make it a year, give it one year and see what happens. Well, the first two years were rough, so many times I wondered if I was where I belonged, and if I should go back to Michigan. I still have days that I want to go home. But… even on hard days, life is good. I have to remind myself to focus on the positives because there really are so many blessings all around to be thankful for.
I used to be stuck. Life wasn’t what it should be and I knew that there had to be more. Somewhere. Florida? It’s not easy to make a big move and take major risks, trust me. But truly, my life began six years ago. I went from existing to living. I still miss my family and friends, so much. Knowing that they are in my corner, unconditionally, makes it so much better though. I’m so thankful for those who believe in me, that push me to keep going, and help me be a better person.
Dreams don’t have to just sit on a shelf and collect dust. I promise you. Leaving your comfort zone is scary, but much better than living with regrets or wondering what could have happened if you just gave things a try. If someone tells you that you can’t do something, you show them that you indeed can!
I’d have never dreamed that I’d get to cover media events for Disney, would write three books, get to do a spot on the radio, etc….. NEVERRRRRR! But God gave me the push I needed, He had bigger plans! Scott too, big old push!
So on our 6 year Florida Anniversary, I just want to say thank you for sticking by my family and I on this crazy journey. I’m forever grateful and will keep doing my best to bring you more of the Magic whenever possible. Now go… live your dream. 💜 Love you all. Xo -M
That really says it all! Life has been so uncertain the past few months but one thing that it has done is reinforce what we have to be thankful for. For me I truly am thankful for the love and support of my family and friends. I’m thankful for all of YOU too! Without our followers TMSM wouldn’t exist. I also wanted to share with you an excerpt from my book Moving to Main Street USA. It was what I wrote on our one year anniversary of moving to Florida.
Through the years things have changed, mistakes were made, people have come and gone. No one is perfect, I’m certainly not. However… I truly feel that everything in life, good or bad, is an experience and so much can be learned from that. I’m always trying to learn, to do better, and to make those I love proud. The Main Street Mouse turned 10 this year, and I hope for many more magical years to come. Thank you all for everything. On that note, as always, sending you love, blessings and pixie dust. See ya real soon! -M
