Disney has a proud legacy of support for our military and those who have raised their hand to serve. On this Armed Services Day, we take a look back at some of the highlights of Walt Disney World Resort saluting our active-duty and reserve service members, as well as, our brave veterans.
We’ve been honored to showcase the courage, professionalism and fortitude of all of our branches of service during numerous events we’ve hosted over the years. Of course, moments that burn brightly in the memories of our cast members and guests in recent years have been the goose-bump inducing flyovers of the military’s premier flight demonstration teams over Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT. Moments such as these are a great source of pride in today’s military.
Enjoy this look back at some highlights of flyovers over Walt Disney World by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
Our esteem for the Armed Forces is also on display daily as part of our flag retreat ceremonies held in Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland park. This long-standing tradition holds special meaning for our Cast, as well as, the service members and veterans who participate.
As we recognize National Military Appreciation Month, here’s a look back at one particular special moment where we had the opportunity to honor a Vietnam Veteran during his Walt Disney World vacation in 2017.
Even though our parks are temporarily closed, we continue to honor our traditions by raising and lowering the flag daily as a symbol of hope and to continue our Salute to all those who serve.
