There’s always something fun happening at Walt Disney World Resort and this week is no exception. Thursday marks not only the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but also the return of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has also begun its 2019 run at Magic Kingdom Park, and there’s the recently-opened NBA Experience at Disney Springs. With so many things to do in every corner of our world, here are a few reminders to make the most of every minute.
As with any visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, the My Disney Experience app is the place to go for up-to-the-minute information. Whether you’re looking for park operating hours, show times, making a mobile order or planning FastPass+, My Disney Experience is your one-stop shop. Be sure to have it loaded on your phone before your visit, and enable push notifications and location services so you don’t miss a thing.
Another thing to do before you come to Walt Disney World is download the Play Disney Parks app. Turn wait time into play time with this app that connects you to the theme parks with unique experiences that bring surrounding environments to life. It also transforms your mobile device into your own Star Wars: Datapad and unlocks a whole new set of adventures when you’re in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Interact with and explore Black Spire Outpost by translating a galactic language, learning what’s hidden inside crates and containers, accepting missions from residents of Batuu and more.
Speaking of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, if you’re planning on joining us for the opening day on Aug. 29, the park will open at 6 a.m. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, please use the transportation provided. Resort buses and watercraft will have extended hours just like the park, so check local resort communication for more information.
And if visiting our other theme parks is on your agenda, be sure to take advantage of every second by reviewing each park’s operating hours in advance! Whether you’re an early riser or a night owl, there are plenty of options for planning your day.
