Happy Wednesday everyone! There’s a lot to cover this week, so I’m just going to jump right in!
To say things have been busy around here would be an understatement. I’m finding myself having to keep checking to see what day it is, just to keep everything straight. Sad but true. I’m so not organized at times, but regardless of that, busy is good. Speaking of busy, Thursday kicked it off. We were invited to attend Villains After Hours again at the Magic Kingdom, but this time it was a family media night. Meaning, I could bring the kids! Before going to the party, we stopped at the Contemporary Resort to see a long time Main Streeter, Jodi, and her family. They were staying at this lovely resort with a magical view, and they invited us up for a visit. Jodi has been following TMSM for years, and we were happy to finally meet her in person. The view from the Contemporary is so amazing, it’s truly on my bucket list of places to stay. A bit later we headed to the Magic Kingdom for the party. It’s not often that I’m able to bring my family to these special events, so when the kids get to go they really look forward to it. Between the snacks, Maleficent Dragon, and short wait times for rides… they loved Villains After Hours. We even rode Splash Mountain with Jodi and her family. Everthing was satisfactual! Yes, I referenced the song in the ride. Disney habits. Villains After hours is a great party, and there are a few left if you hurry!
The next morning we had to be up bright and early for a Lion King media event at Animal Kingdom. By the time we got home from Villains After Hours, we only had a few hours of sleep before we had to be at the next event. Who needs sleep, right? The festivities included riding the safari, a scavenger hunt, lunch at Tiffins and also checking out the new animation area at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. We did a live feed of the safari on our Facebook page, and luckily all three of the lions were visible, which I rarely catch. It’s fun to take our followers on adventures with us, we try to bring the magic to you wherever you’re at. I’ll post video below!
This summer is going by so fast. I remember a few months ago, I had a list of everything that was coming up and now that list is much shorter. Media events, concerts, etc…. almost done. In April I believe, my friend Cindy messaged me and said she was taking me to Universal CityWalk to see Howard Jones in concert. Remember him? I was like, ok, in July? That works. Well, we went last night and had a great time. That came up so fast too. I’ve been pretty busy, laying low, just trying to catch up and take care of things in many areas. I’m glad that we had tickets for last night in advance, because it forced me to get out of the house for non work reasons. We need to do that once in awhile, you know? Sometimes work and home worries can take a backseat, and it’s perfectly ok to forget for awhile and have fun. Easier said than done, I know.
Back on the work front, tomorrow morning I have the Christmas in July media event. I know, I know…. Christmas? Disney does these events every summer, and I truly look forward to them. It’s fun to see what’s coming for the holiday season, especially where food and merchandise is concerned. I hope you follow along with me tomorrow morning on Instagram and Facebook, I’ll be posting everything that I can. Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel too! I got an email yesterday for the Galaxy’s Edge press event for Walt Disney World. This two day event is literally right after we get home from covering the D23 Expo in Anaheim. So August will be busy too. When we started TMSM 9 years ago, I never dreamed that I’d get to do things like this. A hobby turned into a job, and I’m so thankful. If it weren’t for all of you, TMSM wouldn’t exist, and I’m forever grateful for your love and support. On that note, that’s it for this week. As always, thank you for keeping up with us every week, it’s so very much appreciated. Until next time, sending you lots of love, blessings and pixie dust. See ya real soon! ~M
