As of this morning, the Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is officially open to the public. This gorgeous new tower is part of the “reimagined” Coronado Springs, meaning that the entire resort has updates and new additions. Yesterday I was invited to a media event at the tower, where I was able to check out the new facilities and stay the night. The tower itself is absolutely gorgeous, very modern and impressive. The lobby is enormous, with the Barcelona Lounge just down the stairs from where you check in.
The standard rooms are very spacious, with hidden Mickey’s included. Actually, there are hidden Mickey’s all over the new tower, even in the elevator. The bathroom in the standard room is a decent size as well. I can’t forget to mention the view. It doesn’t matter what side of the hotel your room is on, you’re guaranteed to see a Disney Park off in the distance.
There are also new dining locations for you to enjoy. On the 16th floor there is Toledo — Tapas, Steak, & Seafood and the Dahlia Lounge. Both have stunning views. Across the water, there is the Three Bridges Bar, which has delicious foods and amazing Sangria. No reservation is needed!
All in all, the new Gran Destino Tower is absolutely fantastic. I was so impressed with the decor, the layout, the food…. all top notch. This morning was the grand opening ceremony, and new guests were welcomed starting today. You can see more footage from my stay as well as the ceremony from this morning on the links below. A huge thank you to Walt Disney World for the invitation to the Gran Destino Tower, I can’t wait to go back.
