Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you’re all doing well and are ready for our weekly check in! I apologize for doing mostly videos last week, there was a lot going on, but I’m ready to catch up! Let’s go!
It feels like summer already here in Central Florida. The temps feel more like July than early May. It’s been so much like summer that we actually went to Blizzard Beach recently, it was fun. The crowds down here have been a lot like summer as well. If you hear people say that WDW has no slow time anymore, they’d be right. It’s always busy! Speaking of busy… that’s us. There is always something going on, it comes in spurts but lately it’s been a lot. The Hollywood Studios 30th anniversary festivities were a lot of work, but I really enjoyed covering it all. It still blows me away that we get asked to cover these events at Disney, I feel pretty happy whenever we get an invitation. It’s certainly not taken for granted!
Friday was Scott’s birthday, so we just took the kids out for a little while, we needed some down time. The next day we had family media day at Epcot. What’s family media day? Well, Disney invites the media and their families to come and spend the day exploring the Flower and Garden Festival, with extras included. They had World Showplace reserved for us to go and cool off, have a snack and cold drink, plus see Donald and Daisy. My friend Cindy and her family were in there as well so we had time to sit and visit. It was nice. Also nice….
When we were leaving the media center, we ran into some Main Streeters, Michelle and Sheryl. It’s ALWAYS nice to see people we know in the parks, so we spent a little time with them as well. Also, we went to Via Nappoli for pizza, and saw the concert for the evening. It was Herman’s Hermits featuring Peter Noone. I seriously didn’t know they had such a huge following still, but the crowd was really into it and they put on a great show. We had a fun day.
This week, we’ve been keeping ourselves busy, of course. There is so much to do in the next few weeks, I had to write myself a list so that I don’t forget something. I had the radio station this morning which was a hoot, fun topics. We are getting ready for family to come visit, as my older kiddo is getting ready to graduate from high school. I seriously can’t believe that. Time goes so fast. I remember when my sons were babies, my mom and others would tell me to enjoy them while they’re small, because they grow up pretty quickly. They were so right. Instead of being sad, I’m trying to throw myself into planning a party for him and enjoying having my family in town. Time keeps going regardless of what we do, I just want to make the best of it. He’s a great kid, both boys are, I can’t ask for much more than that. I’m also looking forward to having my one year old nephew in the house. I’m thinking he needs a pair of mouse ears, don’t you? Gotta start them early! After the family visit and said graduation party, we will be getting ready to head to Disneyland to cover the media events at the opening of Galaxy’s Edge. I hadn’t planned on going to California until August to cover the D23 Expo, but Disney had other plans for me and when work calls we go. I’m of course scared to fly, but am truly thankful that I was asked to go out there to cover the festivities. I hope you follow along too, I’ll do my best to get as much info out as possible!
So…. that’s it for this week. As always, thank you all so much for following along with us every day. Don’t forget to invite your friends to follow TMSM on Facebook, every little bit helps! Until next time, sending you lots of love, blessings and pixie dust. See ya real soon! ~M
