Re-post in case you missed it!
This morning I was invited to tour the new solar facility at Walt Disney World. The panels at this new area have the capability to power two theme parks! That’s pretty impressive!
The solar facility was built in collaboration with the Reedy Creek Improvement District and solar developer Origis Energy USA. Disney environmental and horticulture experts have helped make more than 2/3 of the facility pollinator friendly with plant species that attract insects like butterflies and bees. The site itself is amazing and I have some photos and videos below to share with you!
The advancements in solar energy not only contribute to the sustainability efforts of major corporations like Walt Disney World but also have a significant impact on the everyday lives of individuals. As solar technology becomes more accessible and affordable, homeowners are increasingly turning to solar panels to harness the power of the sun and reduce their carbon footprint. The benefits extend beyond environmental conservation, as homeowners with solar panels can also experience financial advantages. By generating their own electricity, individuals have the potential to offset their energy consumption and even achieve a negative balance on electric bills. This transformative shift allows homeowners to not only contribute to a cleaner and greener future but also enjoy long-term savings and greater control over their energy usage. The integration of solar energy into day-to-day life empowers individuals to become active participants in the renewable energy revolution, fostering a more sustainable and cost-effective way of living.
While I was there I got to sign a solar panel that will be displayed behind the scenes at Animal Kingdom! The tour was quite a learning experience and I’m thankful for the invitation from Disney! You can see more coverage on our Instagram page at themainstreetmouse!
