Opening Weekend of Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

The weather could not have been more perfect for opening weekend of Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival.  It was mid 80’s and bright sunny skies.  A perfect day to explore all the offerings of the festival.

First up for me was merchandise!  Michele has shared all the great stuff coming to the festival and it was time for me to get my hands on what I wanted.  I really wanted the Minnie Mouse magicband and was hoping they weren’t sold out.  Thankfully they still had plenty in stock and I was excited to get mine.

Next up we needed to get our hands on the Pluto AP magnet.  If you know me then you know Pluto is my favorite Disney character.  The kids knew we would not do anything else until I had him in my hands.  So mission accomplished, we got him!

Once I got my magnet and magicband it was time to check out the food.  We did not taste as much as we usually do because we had a late lunch before we got there.  I know poor planning on my part, but we did get a few things to try.

From the Taste of Marrakesh stand we got the Fried Cauliflower and Harissa Chicken Kebab.  They were both amazing.  The cauliflower was my fave and I will definitely be getting it again.

From the Citrus Blossom stand we tried the Tuna Tataki.  This was really tasty.  I wasn’t sure if I would like it when my husband got it, but we both definitely gave it two thumbs up.

For drinks my oldest daughter got the Watermelon Cucumber Slushy from the Florida Fresh booth.  This is so refreshing.  They also have an adult version with gin which is even better!  My son got his favorite, Violet Lemonade.  His favorite is to eat the little edible flower.  We also decided to get the Orange Bird Sipper cup filled with an Orange Cream Slushy from The Citrus Blossom Booth.  Although Orange Bird is super cute, I may be in the minority, but I was not a fan of the drink.

There’s still so much for us to see and do at Flower and Garden and as we enjoy things, we will share them with you!  Make sure you follow us on all of our social media outlets to keep up with the latest festival news.
