Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m back! Last Wednesday I missed my usual Florida Living check in, but I had good reason. It was my birthday and I was on a “stay-cation” at Walt Disney World! Let’s talk about it!
On Tuesday I was told that we were going somewhere to celebrate my birthday a day early. I knew Disney would be involved in some way so I was excited. Not only did I have to pack a bag, but we brought my dog, Jack. See, things were getting interesting! Our destination ended up being the cabins at the Fort Wilderness Campground! Friends of ours recommended doing this previously, and it’s something we had been wanting to try. Being able to bring Jack sealed the deal, so that’s what my hubby decided to do. I was excited, so were the kids… Jack too! Our cabin was right by a pool, but we had a golf cart so we could explore even further! Such a great way to start my birthday celebration!
That evening we had dinner at Trails End, then watched the Water Pageant from the shore later that night. There are a lot of guests with dogs at the campground, so we took Jack for a ride on the golf cart when we went to the beach area too. He loved it. I’m actually going to do a blog about all of this with pet info so stay tuned for that! The cabins are pretty and make camping more like “glamping” which is more my style. Take a look inside!
The next day when we woke up it was cold and raining. You only get one birthday a year and we were determined to make the most of the day. We took the boat over towards the Magic Kingdom, and had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. That restaurant is my favorite on property, but we usually only go on special occasions. The food is so good and the characters are great!
Afterwards we spent most of the day at the Magic Kingdom since it’s my favorite park. It was chilly but we really had a great time. Spending my birthday with my family and having that quality time was just what I needed!
Thursday for Valentine’s Day we went to a painting event at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn. The theme was Tangled so we had to go! At the event, there were drinks and snacks, and we painted the lantern scene from Tangled. So much fun! Speaking of fun, our friends were in town over the weekend and they invited us out on Saturday evening. Busy week for sure, but we really enjoyed the break!
Monday night we a had our friend Chris as my guest cohost for TMSM Weekly Live. Also…. we launched TMSM Radio! You can listen to Disney music 24/7 on our site or on your phone if you download the app! It’s free and our way to bring even more magic to our followers. I hope you enjoy it! This week I have a Star Wars media event at the Studios, then next week the preview of the Flower and Garden Festival, so stay tuned. Thank you all so much for following us each week and supporting what we do. Also, thank you all for the birthday messages last week, you’re the best. Until next time…. sending you love, blessings and pixie dust! See ya real soon! -M
