New menu items have popped up over at Backlot Express in Hollywood Studios and we headed over to check things out.

It looks like the Star Wars Chicken and Waffles has been removed from the menu and replaced with Chicken Breast Strips and Biscuit.  My little ones were a little disappointed that this was removed from the kids menu as well.  Also new on the menu is the Cuban Sandwich and the California Chicken Club Sandwich.  New to the dessert menu is the Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownie and the Key Lime Pie Verrine.

Here’s a closer look at the menu.

We decided to try the Chicken Breast Strips and Biscuit.

The description states: “served with crumbled bacon, country gravy, and spicy strawberry glaze.”  I will say I was put off by the sound of spicy strawberry glaze, but my husband ordered it and I went with a more healthier older menu item of the Vegetarian Caprese Sandwich.  My husband thoroughly enjoyed this.  I tried a piece and did not like the strawberry glaze, but that’s because I’m not really a fan of strawberries.  If this had been a different glaze, like buffalo, I would’ve enjoyed it too.  The biscuits and gravy was really yummy and there is even an option to order the biscuits as a side option. There was a server coming around asking us what we thought of the new menu items, because they were still testing them out.  I’m curious to see what others think of it and if it will stay or be modified.

All and all we had a nice meal at Backlot Express.  The kids were sad to see the Star Wars options go, but my guess is we may see something much better once Galaxy’s Edge opens.  Stay tuned to The Main Street Mouse for more food updates as we see them!
