Frightfully fun Halloween merchandise has materialized just in time for the spookiest season of the year. Designed for guests celebrating the holiday both during and after a Disney vacation, a talented team of product developers, artists and planners spent more than a year crafting these festive items. Their chilling challenge was presenting merchandise in a way never before seen while maintaining a connection to Disney Parks. A solution arrived in the form of a beloved Mouse-eared icon that has grown in popularity in recent years.

“Mickey Mouse-shaped pumpkins are found everywhere during the Halloween season at Disney Parks including merchandise,“ explained Dan Howard, Senior Creative Director with Disney Creative Group. “This Disney icon, mixed with playful character artwork, is an excellent foundation for this year’s collection as it’s something guests will remember from their visit.”

From apparel and home décor to necklaces and headwear that illuminate the night,
guests will have their pick of pumpkin-themed products. New products, such as shirts with all-over prints for adults and kids, join familiar favorites like the light-up trick-or-treat bucket and ceramic candle votive.

Graphic designers and character artists selected Halloween-inspired colors – purple, orange, black and gray – reminiscent of vintage trick-or-treat bags. This limited color palette is best seen on products decorated with Disney characters in colorful costumes.

Dressed as a classic vampire or witch, Mickey and Minnie Mouse are interpreted as sparkling sculpted ornaments, featured on a countdown-to-Halloween clock or displayed on canvas-wrapped artwork. A door mat with a humorous Halloween pun is a wonderful way to welcome trick-or-treaters.

“Products with playful messaging are a popular trend in the marketplace,” explained Summer Bloomfield, Merchandise Strategy Manager, who worked with product developers to curate this year’s assortment.

Eye-catching apparel is adorned with those playful phrases including “I vant candy” or “I’m just here for the candy.” When paired with an orange and black sequined headband and an animated glow necklace, guests can create instant Halloween looks perfect for attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World Resort or Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland Resort.

Products are available at merchandise shops throughout the theme parks and resorts. Guests may also order select Halloween merchandise online by visiting ShopDisney.com.
