What is the first thing you think of when you think about Animal Kingdom? For me it’s the animals and what better way to see all kinds of animals than on Kilimanjaro Safaris.
I find riding later in the day provides the best viewing of all the animals. Especially during the summer months, the animals tend to hide during the day and come out when the sun is going down. This past weekend we rode around 6:30 pm and it had just stopped raining. Perfect for viewing the animals on safari.
The most exciting moment on safari for me was seeing the new baby giraffe, Aella, who was born earlier this summer on June 29th. She was absolutely precious to see with her family.
There were so many animals out and about and up close to see like this Ankole Cattle.
Another highlight of the safari for me was seeing the beautiful elephants. They just fascinate me. The gentle giants of the safari.
And since January 4, 2017 I’m always on the look out to find Baby Stella and was so happy to see her out yesterday. She’s still a little peanut compared to the rest of her family, but she’s getting so big.
Last but certainly not least are the mighty lions and this night on safari was certainly a treat. All three of them were out in full view. Absolutely stunning animals. It’s rare to see them all out in full view. Seeing the male lion on top of the tall rocks was awesome.
Day or night the safari is a great way to see the animals at Animal Kingdom. Each ride is different and you never know who you will see.
