Around the country, families are enjoying the last lingering days of summer before a new school year starts. Whether you’re here in Central Florida on vacation or you live locally, now is the perfect time to enjoy one last hurrah – and I can think of no better place than Disney Springs!
Need some suggestions on what to do? Start with a Pineapple Soft Serve from Marketplace Snacks (pictured above), then read on for my top picks that offer something for everyone:
Enjoy a Sweet Holiday: Nothing says “summer” like s’mores, and as luck would have it, today is National S’more Day. Celebrate the oeey-gooey goodness with Made-to-Order S’mores at The Ganachery, a S’more Cupcake at Sprinkles or a Campfire S’more Petite Cake at Amorette’s Patisserie. (Feeling ambitious? Why not indulge in this trifecta of treats with your own personal S’more Scavenger Hunt!)
Make Movie Memories: It’s been a summer of blockbusters and if you haven’t seen the latest big-screen hits, there’s still time. “Christopher Robin,” ”Ant-Man and the Wasp,” “The Incredibles 2” and Solo: A Star Wars Story are still showing at AMC Disney Springs 24. (Tip: Matinee movies are offered daily until noon, with tickets starting at $5.59 + taxes and fees.)
Tempt Your Taste Buds: Disney Springs Brews & BBQ – featuring summer staples ranging from burgers and ribs to salads and steaks – runs through Labor Day; it’s the perfect excuse to try something new or enjoy a second helping of your tried-and-true favorites. For a full list of offerings (including those pictured below), pick up a guide at the Disney Springs Welcome Center.
Score a Deal at Splitsville Luxury Lanes: If your family loves a little friendly competition, hit the lanes before lunch and take advantage of Early Bird Bowling offered every day until 12 p.m.: kids 9 and under can bowl for $10 and adults are just $14, shoes included.
Savor the Last Sip of Summer: If you’re visiting Disney Springs without kids, don’t pass up Happy Hour at Paddlefish. Right now, you can enjoy $5 draft beers and $20 bottles of rosé at the bar from 2-4 p.m. and on the 3rd deck from 9-11 p.m. I’ll toast to that!
Here’s to one last hurrah and a great back-to-school season for you and your family.
