Happy Wednesday! This week, we’re not just going to cover Florida living, we’re going to take a glimpse of Michigan too. It has been a crazy week, lets talk about it!
Last Thursday, we hopped on a plane and headed home to Michigan for the weekend. As I’ve said before, I truly hate to fly. It’s a horrible fear that I find near impossible to shake, no matter how hard I try. Normally we drive to Michigan, but time wouldn’t allow for it this trip, so I reluctantly flew. We sat in the front of the plane, right in front of the flight attendants. I told the male attendant that I was going to watch him, and as long as he didn’t look alarmed then I’d be fine. Well, I did have a bit of a panic moment during take off, I can’t lie. There’s deep seeded reasons for my fear. When I was a little girl, there was a horrible plane crash during takeoff at Detroit Metro Airport, and I remember it far too well. Even as an adult, I’ve read about it to see what happened, and it still scares me. Fear is awful. So, I explained to the flight attendant where the fear came from, and before he served anyone one the plane, he poured me a cocktail on the house. The flight went fine and when we were leaving I gave him a big hug and thanked him for being so awesome. Thank God he was sitting in front of me most of the flight! When we got off the plane we went to my parents house, it was my mom’s birthday! We went out for dinner, then over to see my brother and sister in law and their NEW baby. My very first nephew. Yes, we were coming home to for my Grandma’s birthday party, but my nephew came just in time for me to meet him as well. I may sound a bit biased, but my gosh, he’s cute. Absolutely beautiful with a round angel face and a head full of dark hair that seems to run in the family. I cried when I held him, so many emotions just flooded my heart, and I was so glad I was able to meet him. I love that little boy so much already. (and you know I can’t wait till he’s older and I can take him to Disney!)
Friday we went over to surprise my Grandma, she didn’t know that we were coming to town for her birthday party. She was surprised indeed. It was for her 90th birthday, we HAD to be there! Family from all over was coming to town for the festivities, and I’m so happy that we were able to make it. Saturday was party day, and it was pretty busy. We met the whole family at the park by the water for photos, we haven’t had anything like that done in a long time. Afterwards we had an amazing Italian dinner at a local restaurant, then back to my parents house to continue the party into the evening. My Gram really enjoyed herself. Yes, she’s turning 90 but you’d never know it. She’s sharp as cheddar, looks fabulous, and still has that sense of humor that we all love about her. She’s truly a gem, and even wore a crown for her special day….. but of course. It has been years since all the cousins and extended family have been together, and a fantastic day was had by all. On Sunday it was already time to come back to Florida, and yes another plane ride. I did alright, I still don’t like it though. My parents will be coming here in a few weeks to see our new house, so saying goodbye wasn’t as hard. It was nice to be back to our Florida home, in the warmer weather. Our dog Jack stayed at the pet hotel at Disney World, so we picked him up and went home to rest up for Monday.
On Monday, I had to be over at Hollywood Studios in the afternoon for another look at Toy Story Land. I was looking forward to seeing the progress of the new area, and how different it may look since a month ago when I was there last. The new sign was up, and more detail is on the buildings. We couldn’t go all the way back to the land because a storm rolled in and there was lightening in the area. The next Toy Story Land peek is on May 23rd I believe, and I’m sure it’s going to be great.
On Monday evening we did our second live show, TMSM Weekly Live. It went really smoothly considering we had been traveling all weekend and I had an event in the afternoon. People are enjoying the new addition to what we do at TMSM, and I’m happy to be able to offer more to our readers. If you’ve missed the first show, or the one from Monday, you can watch them on our YouTube channel! I’ll link the videos below, don’t forget to subscribe for more! Well, that’s it for this week. It’s been quite a whirlwind and I’m still playing catch up, there’s always stuff to do! Thank you as always for keeping up with my family and I each week, and for supporting our daily efforts, I appreciate it more than you know. Until next time, sending you lots of love, blessings and pixie dust! See ya real soon! ~M
