It’s Wednesday Main Streeters! I have SO much to tell you about in this week’s Florida Living update, I hope you’re ready for it! Let’s get chatting!
Last week, I’ll confess, I wrote Wednesday’s blog on Tuesday. I know, gasp! I had good reason though! Last Wednesday was a full day, and I knew there wouldn’t be time. Actually since then, there hasn’t been time for much, as it’s been one thing after another. That morning, the Flower and Garden Festival began at Epcot, and we of course had to go over there and get coverage for the site. Those “work trips” are important to fit in, because I know our readers are going to want to see the first photos of the happenings at Walt Disney World. I love the Flower and Garden Festival, it’s my favorite, and it surely didn’t disappoint. Just beautiful. OH and the merchandise this year? My goodness, the cutest. Well done Disney! That evening, we went to the Magic Kingdom (yes two parks on a school day!) too meet up with my friend and long time Main Streeter, Troy. He had never been to Trails End for dinner over at the campground, so that’s where we took him. We get so busy during the week with work and school, that we usually can’t get out to see people, but this was planned and I really wanted to finally meet Troy in person. He’s a talented artist and has made graphics for us in the past, he even had silly TMSM buttons made for his trip that he was wearing. Loved it. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I truly have met some amazing people through my job. Like Troy. I joked with him that I thought Trails End was awesome, a favorite of ours, and I hope they didn’t have an off night and he didn’t like it. But, it’s Disney and of course dinner was great as usual, and he enjoyed it very much. It was a good night for us all!
The weekend was busy of course. Friday night we went to dinner with friends at Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs.
I hadn’t been there to eat yet, so it was overdue. I was telling my kids that the building we were in used to be a dance club, Mannequins, at Pleasure Island back in the day. That brought back some fun memories, but there was no revolving dance floor in the restaurant of course. Those who visited Mannequins know that the spinning dance floor was their highlighted feature. Good times. Saturday was media day back at Epcot. While we walked the festival on Wednesday, the media event was to sample foods from a few of the booths and learn some of the ins and outs of what Disney has planned this year. Being asked to go to these events at Disney is truly a high point of the job, and something I never take for granted. I know that there are thousands of Disney sites and pages out there, and the fact that Disney invites us is a huge deal for me. If they ask, we go, that’s the bottom line. Work trips on Saturday are worth it in this case. We walked around for a bit and got more pictures and such before going home. My family had been sick on and off, and it’s finally my turn, so we left before the concert. That’s ok though, at least we were able to attend and stock up on pics and info. Yet another good day! Thanks Disney!
As we get ready to close out this weeks update, I have one last thing to report. If you’ve read my book or follow these blogs each week, then you know that we have been renting our house since moving here almost FOUR years ago. Four years, can you believe it? Having a house of our own has been a dream, something that I wasn’t sure would happen. Living here in Florida has been a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, so I’m never sure what will happen. Actually, I don’t even try to guess anymore, I just pray for things to work out. Well, things worked out, and we got a house. Thank you God! I didn’t tell anyone about it really, because I wasn’t sure if the house we were looking at would actually come through. In my head I still worry of course, that if I get my hopes up then things will end in disappointment. Sometimes we just need to have faith and know that whatever is meant to be will be. It’s hard but it’s true. So, in the next few weeks, we will be busy making the switch over to the new house, it’s surreal. Yes it’s still close to Disney, that was a must, but it’s ours and I’m thankful. I wish my family was here to see it all, but at least now we’ll have a new place for them to stay when they come to visit. So exciting. Speaking of visits, our big TMSM Meet Up this year is December 8th, so save the date if you can. It’s never too soon to start planning, and I seriously can’t wait for that weekend! It’s always a good time. On that note, that’s it this week. Thank you so much for following along on our crazy adventures every Wednesday, I love you for that. Until next time, sending you love, blessings and pixie dust. See ya real soon! ~M
