In early January, I started the year with the vigor and gusto of a woman ready to tackle 2018 full force – committing to healthier eating, more sleep and extra exercise. Almost a month in, and the results are mixed, at best. I have tried a few new healthy recipes and earlier this week I ran three miles, which is the most distance I’ve covered since my now 8-month old son was born. (More sleep? Not so much, thanks to the aforementioned baby!)
Though February will be here next week, there’s still time to make good on your New Year’s Resolution to focus on yourself … with rest, relaxation and pampering. Disney Springs can help! Here are a few of my favorite products that let you treat yourself, the healthy way:
Heavenly Honey: Will all the good-for-you buzz (pun intended) around this sweet nectar of nature, it’s no surprise that Savannah Bee is on my “must-visit” list. Whether you opt to stir your selection in a cup of tea, drizzle it over a bowl of yogurt and fruit, or eat it by the spoonful, the many flavors found here just may inspire you to ditch your artificial sweeteners for good!
Body Bliss and Skincare: Lotions, moisturizes, body butters and scrubs, there are so many ways to treat your skin – the largest organ on the human body – at Disney Springs. With a handful of stores that can bring you the best treatment for your skin type – I know, I mix and match them all! – you’re sure to find the right regimen. Not sure where to start? Origins, Kiehl’s, L’Occitane, Sephora and Basin can guide you … just pop in during your next visit to property for a complimentary consultation.
Tea Time: With seemingly endless varieties to choose from at Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company and The Spice and Tea Exchange, a spot of tea may be just the thing you need to unwind after a stressful day. (Tip: follow in my footsteps and gift yourself a whimsical mug from World of Disney to make every sip feel fun and fanciful!))
Sway Away: For the ultimate in relaxation, invest in a hammock swing from Swings and Things, located near Paddlefish. Whether you use it as your favorite reading nook or as a special place to steal some extra shut-eye, there’s nothing else quite like it.
Amazing Antioxidants: Dark chocolate and red wine. Need I say more? For years, I’ve read that enjoying these treats in moderation is not only “okay,” but actually good for you. I sure hope it’s true! I love an occasional chocolate square from Ghirardelli or The Ganachery, and later this year, Wine Bar George, by Master Sommelier George Miliotes, will be my “go-to” venue for trying wines of all varieties.
What about you? Is there a pampering product from Disney Springs that you love? Share in the comments below – I’d love to give it a try if I haven’t already!
