“Coco,” Disney-Pixar’s latest animated family comedy, is already breaking records. The movie, which has been released in Mexico at the Morelia Film Festival, has set a box office record, becoming the top film in Mexico.
Since the film debuted October 27th, it has taken in 824 million pesos, which is $43.1 million U.S. dollars. The previous box office record was set by “The Avengers,” which grossed 827 million pesos during its entire run. “Coco” was released two days before the start of Dia De Los Muertos, a three-day holiday, has held the top spot at the box office for three consecutive weeks, and is expected to greatly exceed the previous record during its run.
“Coco” opened in the U.S. on November 22nd, in China on November 23rd, and in Russia on November 24th. Have you seen or are you looking forward to seeing “Coco?”
