You can almost smell the aroma of warmed baked treats in the air – it’s National Gingerbread Day! We’ve got gingerbread items galore this year on both coasts – from gingerbread apples and cookies to fantastical displays in our parks and resorts. No matter where you’re celebrating the holiday season, you’ll be able to find some delicious gingerbread offerings at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Be sure to try these tasty treats, available throughout the holiday season, before they’re gone!
At Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll find some amazing gingerbread displays such as the annual gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This year marks the 19th anniversary of this life-size holiday house, located in the lobby of the resort. Here, you can even learn how to decorate a gingerbread house yourself with daily demos starting Dec. 1. You can also find freshly baked items such as gingerbread cookies, shingles, ornaments, cookie bags and more!
In addition, you’ll find even more gingerbread displays at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Epcot and Disney Springs. For more details, take a look at my recent blog post where I tell you everything you need to know about this year’s holiday displays.
During Flurry of Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can find gingerbread pops and a special “Prep and Landing”-themed gingerbread cupcake throughout the park.
At the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays, stop by the Yukon Holiday Kitchen in Canada to try the Maple Bûche de Nöel, a maple mousse rolled in gingerbread chiffon cake with cranberry sauce and pecan crumble. Or travel to France where you’ll find the Glace au Pain d’Epices at L’Artisan des Glaces – gingerbread ice cream with gingerbread pieces. For a traditional gingerbread cookie, you’ll find them at the new Cookie Nook Holiday Kitchen in the Odyssey building. And for a warm drink, why not get a gingerbread chai at Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company in Canada? This hot, creamy spiced chai tea is flavored with gingerbread syrup and Irish cream and comes topped with whipped cream.
Over at Disneyland Resort, if you’re visiting Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, there will be a gingerbread replica of the resort located in the lobby, as well as a cart where you’ll find some tasty treats like gingerbread man cookies and peppermint hot chocolate.
Another phenomenal display that can be found at Disneyland Park through early January 2018 is the Haunted Mansion Holiday gingerbread house. You can see this spooky display, inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas,” in the ballroom of the Haunted Mansion. This fanciful creation features Oogie Boogie and is over six feet tall! For more details and fun facts, read our recent blog post.
If you’re looking for some tasty gingerbread treats at Disneyland Resort, then you won’t have to look far! At any candy location throughout the resort, you’ll find some yummy crispy treats and candy apples, all coated in gingerbread-flavored sugar and decorated with icing.
You can also find gingerbread man cookies at Jolly Holiday Bakery Café, Market House, Red Rose Taverne, The Golden Horseshoe and Stage Door Café in Disneyland Park. Disney California Adventure park will have them at various carts throughout the park, Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café, Pacific Wharf Café and Pacific Wharf Coffee Cart. And at the Disneyland Resort Hotels, you’ll find them at The Coffee House, Hearthstone Lounge, and Surfside Lounge.
