Since June, rumors have been swirling about a new hotel tower being built as an extension of the Marriott operated Swan and Dolphin hotels. Now it appears those rumors have been confirmed. In a recent article in the Orlando Sentinel about Coastal Construction Group, the company contracted to handle the expansion, it initially outlined a 350-room tower being built, but it appears the article has since been updated to state that Coastal is ‘handling the expansion of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort.’
The Swan and Dolphin just underwent a $140 million update to the public spaces and updates to all guest rooms. This expansion would just be another upgrade to the resort. Although a completion date has not been confirmed, it is believed that the new tower will be open by the 50th Anniversary in 2021.
