Happy Wednesday Everyone!  Once again we’ve been busy. It’s been quite a summer.  Seems as if it’s flown by pretty darn fast due to the fact that we’ve been on the go so much.  This week follows suit, as we’re on the road again, this time with a visit back home to Michigan!

Earlier this summer we went to Alabama for a convention.  A week and a half after that, we traveled to California to cover the D23 Expo and see Disneyland.  We were home less than a week from that trip, and we once again packed the car and headed home for a family visit in Michigan. I’m so tired of road trips, but this one was necessary.  Even with all the travel, going home was high on the list.  I haven’t been here in Michigan since the New Year, so it was time.  On Saturday, my parents had a make up 4th of July party at the house, since we weren’t able to make it for the holiday.  I was really looking forward to this, because we’d get to see all our family and friends in one afternoon.  Seeing everyone after so many months was great of course. As much as I love Florida, I do miss home.  Especially in the summer.  We swam, had good food, visited, and even went to a local street fair that evening to watch one of our favorite “home” bands play (the Mega 80’s, they’re great).  My boys were happy to be around everyone too, it had been too long. A great time was had by all for sure!

This week we’ve been spending time with family and trying to do some things and eat at favorite places while we can. Because of our crazy schedule we aren’t able to stay in Michigan as long, so we want to make the most of it. School starts already next week, so we have to get back to Florida and get ready for that. Let me just say, I HATE the school schedule in Florida. They make the kids go back to school far too early, in Michigan we didn’t start school until after Labor Day. I’m still not used to it. I shouldn’t complain, we have had an adventurous summer, and I’m thankful for that. I’m also thankful to be home this week. It’s so weird though. As we drive around, going past our old neighborhoods or places we used to go, it’s surreal. It’s like seeing an old movie, all these memories come flooding back. Some good, some bad, but it’s all part of our lives. I always get conflicted when we come home, there are parts of it I miss, but I also know that the greater good of our business resides in Florida. It’s about finding balance. It’s been over three years and I’m still searching for that balance. Life is funny like that, we never know where our journey will take us, but we take it in stride and do our best. So we’ll enjoy our week home, then make the trek back to Orlando to get back to some sort of “normal” after this crazy summer. Well, normal for us anyway.

Yes, it’s been a whirlwind of a summer, but I sure am thankful for the opportunities that we’ve had. I’m also thankful that all of you are kind enough to follow along with us every week. I’m missing Disney World a pinch, I’m sort of itching to get back to Pandora and walk around. Also, I know we have to get over to the Great Movie Ride for one final go around before it closes for good. So many things are coming up at Disney, but I’m looking forward to it all. Now back to family time, so I’ll wrap things up. As always thank you for reading! Until next time, sending you all lots of love, blessings and pixie dust. See ya real soon! ~M
