On Thursday, TMSM was invited out to the media preview of the D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center. We were brought into the convention center and got to see how the area was coming together. We were lead around the corner to the Walt Disney Archives area that focused on Disney Pirates and of course Pirates of the Caribbean. We were greeted by a band of Pirates singing and dancing. Then Michael Vargo, Vice President of D23 welcomed the group and was joined by a special guest, Captain Jack Sparrow.
We were shown a video that spoke of the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales for home release. The Digital HD and 4K Ultra HD will be released on September 19, and on 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and On-Demand on October 3.

After the video, we were able to tour the archive area for Pirate history. From early scripts and concept art to costumes and props from the films and of course the fan favorite attraction. This area was a lot of fun and I’m sure to attract a lot of guests over the next few days.
After leaving the archive area, we were lead through the convention center to a small reception area near the Star Wars booth. The area was protected by the First Order so we were safe. Eventually, Bob Chapek came out and announced we were going to get the first look at the new Star Wars land that is coming to Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We were taken inside the booth and all lined up in front of a black curtain. The crowd was excited and couldn’t wait. Mr. Chapek announced Star Wars Land and the curtain dropped and there was the model of the land. It was fantastic to see. The detail of the area. From seeing the Millenium Falcon to the First Order Banner hanging off one of the buildings, this area was amazing and appears it’s going to be very large.
Today, July 14th begins the 2017 D23 Expo. The Main Street Mouse is excited to be able to attend this event and cover it as best we can. We will be reporting throughout the day on our social media. As news breaks, we will get it out as soon as possible. As new announcements and information is released, we will relay them to all as quickly as possible. If you aren’t already, please follow along with us please like and follow our social media accounts for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. After the weekend ends we will do a full recap of all the announcements as well as pictures of the fun.
