Happy Wednesday Everyone! It’s been a busy week down here in Florida. Yes, it’s still raining, we’re going on week three at this point. We have been trying to make the most of it though, and we have a lot to talk about, so lets go!
We are into Summer vacation for the kids, and we hadn’t done a huge amount of activities since the boys were done with school. With the weather being so cruddy, we’ve stayed home a lot. Since we were going to be home anyway, we had friends over on Friday night, a sort of Summer kick off BBQ. Our friends have girls close in age to my boys, so they’re happy when they come over, they have someone to hang with, which is good. Us adults get to eat, drink and visit as well, so it’s a big win overall. When I lived in Michigan, weekend BBQ’s were a regular activity for my family and I, so it was nice to have company. I really miss that. The kids do too. The rain held out long enough for a little bit of swimming and s’mores, all in all, it was fun. Staying hone doesn’t have to be a bummer if you have the right company. Also last week, we were invited out by Medieval Times Orlando, which isn’t too far from Disney property. That dinner show is a hoot, the boys really had a great time. I’ll be doing a write up on that as well so watch for it!
On Saturday, I was getting ready because I had an interview to conduct that evening. Well, it was a live feed interview, so I couldn’t fully prepare, I just tried to get my questions and such ready. As some know, I had a sit down with two of the Historians from the Frozen Sing Along, Ben and Lisa. I wasn’t sure what to expect, being that I had only seen them in the show. What I did know for sure is that they’re both extremely funny, and anything could happen. When I got to Ben’s house, we discussed a little bit of what we were going to talk about, but didn’t really prepare. We just went live on Facebook and Instagram at 8pm, and figured we’d go with the flow. I couldn’t have asked for better, it was such a good time. Ben is hysterical, and Lisa is a comedy legend at Walt Disney World, she’s amazing. I’ll post the full video below in case you didn’t see it. It’s a long interview, but it’s so much fun, and worth watching! A huge thank you to both of them for the fun evening.
Sunday was Father’s Day. I always feel the pinch being away from home on holidays, but we try to stay busy. I talked to my dad earlier in the day, then we went to Hollywood Studios for some family time. I let Scott pick what he wanted to do, and he chose the Studios. Low and behold, it was raining, but we did our best and rolled with it. We had a good time. It’s to the point that if we wait for the weather to cooperate, then we may as well just stay home, because we’ll be waiting a long time. I don’t remember the rain being THIS consistent since we moved here, it’s been a bummer. Speaking of moving here, we celebrated our 3 year Florida anniversary on Saturday as well. Three years already. Hard to believe. Sometimes I still can’t believe we made the move, and other times it feels like we’ve always been here. It’s hard to find balance, but we’re three years in, and doing alright. I do miss home though, and am looking forward to a Michigan visit sometime this summer.
I appreciate you following along on my busy week. It’s been a lot of fun, and there is always more to come. I have been invited to Disney on Friday for another media event, so I’ll keep you all in the loop on what I find out. Should be interesting! Thank you as always, not for just keeping up with us this week, but for the past three years on this crazy adventure. Your support means everything, and from the bottom of my heart, I’m thankful. Until next week, sending you love, blessings and pixie dust. See ya real soon! ~M
