Happy Wednesday Main Streeters! I hope you’re all doing well and are ready to chat and catch up, because I am! This past week was a bit more eventful than the previous one, so let’s get started!
As I mentioned (more than once) last week, Florida has been receiving it’s share of rain. It’s a little depressing to look at the weather app on the phone…. all clouds, all storms, just rain every single day. I’ve barely seen the sun in almost two weeks, which is a bummer being that the kids are out of school and we’d rather be getting out a bit. Last week we went to lunch, and Scott was looking at the Disney Parks app and saw a FastPass pop up for the new Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom. Yes, it was raining, but getting that FastPass isn’t easy, so we grabbed it, finished lunch, and headed to Pandora. I’m glad we went, because it wasn’t too busy because of the weather, and we actually had a good time. Pandora is so pretty, and the boys hadn’t seen it at night yet, so we were able to stay around for that. They kept saying “Mom it’s so dark back here!” It really is dark, but truly something to see. Just stay close to your group so you don’t get lost. Kidding…. sort of. They loved it, we did too.
There was a break in the forecast, less rain for Friday night, so we took advantage of the decent weather and went to the Magic Kingdom in the evening. We had an early dinner at Captain Cook’s at the Poly, then took the boat over to the park. The weather was pretty nice, and we were happy to be out. The main reason we went was to see Happily Ever After. Even though this new show has been out for over a month, the crowds in the evenings are huge still, the front of the Castle was packed with people. Happily Ever After really is magical though, I love it. Just get there a little early if you want to get a good spot! Usually on the weekends, Disney Parks are open later, but Friday the park closed at 10:00. That’s early for a Friday! It worked out well because we got on some last minute rides, and stayed till after closing to see the Kiss Goodnight (I’ll post the video below) and get some awesome photos of the Magic Kingdom without the crowds. I haven’t closed a park since our first Summer here, and I had forgotten how awesome it really is! I highly recommend it!
So Monday night, it was…. you guessed it, raining! It’s getting to the point that if we ever want to leave the house, we need to suck it up and go out, rain or shine. We got a FastPass for Frozen Ever After (yay, another good one) so we went to Epcot to ride. I brought my umbrella this time, so I was a bit more prepared. The only good thing about all this rain, is that there are more FastPasses available for rides that we normally can’t get one for. That’s a good thing. Oh, speaking of good things! Remember last week I told you about us getting to see the Frozen Sing Along with VIP seats courtesy of the funny Cast Members that star in the show? Well…. this Saturday the 17th, we are doing a live interview with them on our Facebook page at 8:00 pm EST. I hope you tune in! You can also watch the interview on Instagram too at @themainstreetmouse and @equityben. Ben and Lisa are hysterical, so I know this is going to be so much fun! Mark your calendar so you don’t forget, it will be a great time I’m sure!
Well, that’s it for this weeks update. It’s a lot busier than the previous week, right? I’m hoping I have more fun things to tell you about next Wednesday, we shall see. On a serious note, I just want to send you all a heartfelt thank you for supporting my efforts and reading these blogs every week. Each Wednesday I try to give you all a look into our lives down here in Florida, good and bad, and I’m so thankful that you care enough to read. The world we live in now is a pretty messed up place, and Disney is a safe, happy spot for so many. A break from the bad, and I’m thankful you are part of that escape with me. Big hugs and blessings to you all. Until next time….. see ya real soon! ~M
