This past week, we were fortunate enough to be able to attend a three day media event that showcased a bit of what’s going on currently at Walt Disney World, including the amazing new Pandora, The World of Avatar. This week has been a whirlwind, but I’m so excited to tell you that guests are going to be thrilled on their next trip to Disney! Let’s talk about it, starting with Pandora!
On Wednesday morning, I had to be at Animal Kingdom bright and early, because the Pandora dedication ceremony was about to take place. Disney Parks Blog did a live feed of the ceremony, which included Bob Iger and James Cameron. There were media outlets present from all over, it was amazing. Once the dedication was done, they allowed us to explore Pandora and experience all it has to offer. As I previously reported, Pandora is truly incredible. Honestly, pictures don’t do it justice, it’s just that beautiful. Not only is Pandora visually stimulating, it’s also a lot of fun. The two rides, Na’vi River Journey and the highly anticipated Flight of Passage are both fantastic. The River Journey is a lovely boat ride with magical sights and sounds, including the most impressive, Shaman of Songs, the most realistic audio animatronic that I’ve ever seen. Flight of Passage takes riders on an adventure on the back of a Banshee! It actually does feel like you’re riding through the skies of Pandora. My family gave this attraction high marks, they loved it when we got to ride last week. I went on Flight of Passage twice on Wednesday, and seeing peoples reactions afterwards was great, everyone was impressed!
Pandora not only has great attractions and photo opportunities, they also have food, drinks and a great store to get your Pandora souvenirs at. Guests can purchase their very own Banshee that sits on your shoulder! Later that evening, we had dinner at the Contemporary, then headed back to Animal Kingdom for more. We were going to be able to see Pandora lit up at night for the first time. Before that, there was a special show at the Tree of Life which included drones flying overhead. It was Disney magic at it’s finest.
After the tree show, we headed over to Pandora to see how it illuminates at night. Wow. It’s beautiful. As you walk around the area, you’ll see various flowers, plants, rocks and even the concrete on the ground, glow with magic. It’s beautiful. One thing about Pandora, if you love photography, this is perfect for you. There are so many places to get gorgeous photos! It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Also amazing, was my Disney representative, Michael, who accompanied me throughout the events. Michael was kind, helpful, and a shining example of why we love Cast Members so much. He did a great job, I was lucky to have him with me.
Yesterday morning, the media day began at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We had a breakfast at the Brown Derby, then headed to the Beauty and the Beast theater for a special presentation. Disney is launching their all new Walt Disney World Blockbuster Summer, and we were told all about it. I’ve posted a video of the presentation below so you can see all of what’s to come. One of the new features of Disney’s Blockbuster Summer, is the Music of Pixar LIVE! A Symphony of Characters, that we got to see a glimpse of. This show will be held at Hollywood Studios, and guests will be able to see some of their favorite scenes from beloved Pixar films, while a symphony orchestra plays the music track live. We got to see part of the Toy Story and Monsters Inc sections, and I can’t wait to go back and see the entire show! It’s so good!
Seeing all of the happenings at Disney Parks firsthand was so exciting. If you’re coming to Walt Disney World this summer, you’re in for a real treat. Disney has outdone themselves once again! Walt Disney World’s Blockbuster Summer will be one to remember. Pandora; The World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom is truly better than words or photos can describe. It’s magical, and I know guests will love it as much a I do. A special thank you to Disney for including The Main Street Mouse in these exciting previews, we’re very appreciative. Stay tuned to TMSM for more coverage from Walt Disney World, we’re always working hard for our readers! Pandora opens officially tomorrow at Animal Kingdom, and the Music of Pixar LIVE makes its debut tonight! Thanks and enjoy!
