Arrest Made at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Earlier this Week

Did you hear about this one?

The most magical place on earth wasn’t so magical on Sunday. At Disney’s Art of Animation resort, a man was arrested for child neglect, after what witnesses describe as a drunken tirade at the resort.
According to the arrest records, Brian Olmstead, of Ohio, was using his child’s stroller to plow through people at the resort, using racial slurs as he went. The resorts managers said they received 11 complaints about Olmstead over the course of four hours. He was escorted back to his room but then returned to the food court where guests claimed he was threatening them with violence.

Olmstead’s wife told investigators they began their day at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports for a cheerleading competition, but he left around 3:30pm with their son to return to the resort. Witnesses say that Olmstead then went to the pool bar at the resort and drank himself into a ‘state of intoxication’, leaving his child, who was still in the stroller, sitting in the sun close by.

When deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s office arrived, they found his son had been sitting in a dirty diaper for hours and his feet and legs were badly sunburned. Olmstead was arrested and charged with child neglect.
