Walt Disney World and Disneyland Refurb List Released 5/8/17

To ensure you are up to date on refurbishment closures at Walt Disney World and Disneyland we would like to share with you the most recently released Disney Parks official refurbishment information.


Walt Disney World
Please note the new additions and changes from the last release include  the removal of completed work and newly announced refurbishment work at the parks and resorts.

Please note, beginning May 2017 areas of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort – including Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Banana Cabana Pool Bar and Calypso Trading Post – will be closed for refurbishment. During this time there will be a variety of dining options available to Guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Centertown will serve breakfast and dinner. A selection of grab-and-go meals will be conveniently available for purchase in three island markets located in the Aruba, Jamaica and Martinique regions of the Resort.

    Monorail
    The Walt Disney World® Resort Monorail System is undergoing refurbishment and may be on modified service and/or routes. If Guests plan to use this form or transportation during their visit they should check to be sure of the best option available on their day of travel, as alternatve transportation options will be available.

    Walt Disney World Resort hotels
    Due to dry conditions, there are currently fire restrictions throughout Central Florida. As a result, campfires at our Resort hotels will not take place as scheduled. Other recreation activities will continue to be held. Additionally, charcoal grills, where available, may not be utilized at this time. Propane grills will be permitted for use.

    Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
    In an effort to make future visits more magical, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is currently undergoing some refurbishment projects across the Resort. During this time, the Resort will be in full operation with all amenities available, including dining, merchandise and recreation locations. It is possible that construction may be seen or heard, but noise should not be heard from Guest rooms between dusk and 9:00am. Ongoing until further notice
    Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas
    Exterior Maintenance and Painting
    All work with the highest potential for noise will be limited between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
    Through May 2017
    In an effort to make future visits more magical, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas is currently undergoing some refurbishment projects across the Resort. During this time, the Resort will be in full operation with all amenities available, including dining, merchandise and recreation locations. It is possible that construction may be seen or heard, but noise should not be heard from Guest rooms between dusk and 9:00am. Ongoing until further notice
    Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
    Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Cabana Pool Bar and Calypso Trading Post
    There will be a variety of dining options available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Centertown, a dining location, will serve an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet for breakfast and dinner. A selection of grab-and-go meals will be conveniently available for purchase in three island markets located in the Aruba, Jamaica and Martinique regions of the Resort. Additional a la carte offerings will be available at mobile food vending locations. Our in-room dining will remain available. During this time construction noise may be seen or heard throughout the resort, but noise should not be heard from Guest rooms between dusk and 9am.

    During this time, amenities including dining and merchandise locations, pools, La Vida Health Club with the spa and salon, and recreation activities such as beach volleyball, Iguana Arcade, Movies Under the Stars and more, will remain available. Please note that noise will be heard while our Resort is undergoing refurbishments, but noise should not be heard from Guest rooms prior to 9:00am daily.

    In an effort to make future visits more magical, Disney’s Pop Century Resort is currently undergoing some refurbishment projects across the Resort. During this time, the Resort will be in full operation with all amenities available, including dining, merchandise and recreation locations. It is possible that construction may be seen or heard, but noise should not be heard from Guest rooms between dusk and 9:00 a.m. Ongoing until further notice
    Disney’s Wilderness Lodge & Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
    General Resort Refurbishments
    Due to extensive refurbishment projects, Guests will very likely see and hear construction work in various areas throughout their stay. To minimize disruptions, we will attempt to limit work until after 9:00 a.m.
    At this time, many popular areas will remained closed – including the Hidden Springs Pool (the leisure pool at Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge), marina and more. In addition, certain pathways, like our nature trail, will be unavailable, and surrounding views may be altered.

    Please note the new additions and changes from the last release include the list of items being closed for the new confirmed Star Wars themed land construction, the removal of completed and previously announced work that may be rescheduled at a later time, new attraction dates, seasonal pool work at select resorts and slight changes to the completion dates of previously announced work. Erin Glover confirmed on 7/28/16 on the Disney Parks Blog that the Disneyland Railroad, “Fantasmic!”, Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes, Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship Columbia will reopen summer 2017 at Disneyland park, but an exact date was not given.

    Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel® & Spa
    General Resort Refurbishments
    Guests may see and hear construction as we make improvements to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. To minimize any disruptions, activities that may create noise will not start earlier than 9:00 AM.
    ~Room refurbishments will occur from January 2017 through fall 2017.
    ~The pools and poolside cabanas will be closed for refurbishment from January 2017 to spring 2017. The pools and water slides at the Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will be available, and poolside cabanas at Disneyland Hotel will be available for reservations.
    ~The Great Hall lobby will be refurbished and access will be limited beginning June 2017 through early August 2017. Some Guest rooms will not be available during this time.
    ~The Craftsman’s Club concierge lounge will be temporarily relocated from early August 2017 through early October 2017.
