TMSM Explains: When Wishes Is Ending And What Happily Ever After Is!

Back in February we shared with you that Wishes would be ending it’s fourteen year run at the Magic Kingdom on May 11, 2017, and that the new nighttime show, Happily Ever After, will debut on May 12, 2017. But we have seen a lot of questions lately like ‘When is Wishes ending?” and “What is the new show about and when does it start?” so tonight we wanted to re-share some important information with you regarding the upcoming Magic Kingdom nighttime show changes that occur this week to ensure you are prepared!
Wishes debuted on October 9, 2003 and was the replacement for the thirty two year old Fantasy in the Sky fireworks show.Happily Ever After will feature the latest fireworks and pyrotechnics and original animation, plus a heart-tugging original score. And thanks to the inclusion of state-of-the-art projection mapping technology, more Disney characters than ever before will be featured in the show, including moments from “Moana,” “Brave,” “Big Hero 6,” “Zootopia,” “The Princess & The Frog,” “Aladdin” and many others. Happily Ever After’s music will feature singers Angie Keilhauer and Jordan Fisher with a full orchestra and 90-voice gospel choir. The Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace will continue to offer up a scrumptious way to view the nighttime fun as “Happily Ever After” makes its debut.

While current park guests have been buying up Wishes shirts and mugs (and you can get your own from home here), the #savewishes effort has been small and quiet. Disney Parks Blog has been very forthcoming with videos of the upcoming show since it’s announcement, possibly to encourage park guests to give the new show a chance as we all know us Disney fans are never great with change. I have the majority of the Parks Blogs videos for you, and the new show’s song lyrics below!

Per the Orlando Sentinel the lyrics to the new Happily Ever After show are as follows:

Ready to begin, let the wonder take hold.
Feel it draw you in.
Watch the moment unfold.
Spark a dream that we’re meant to follow.
Setting off for a new tomorrow.
Every step we take, brings a new hope, a new day.
Every choice we make helps us find our own way.
Every wish that we pull into motion.
Diving in with our hearts wide open.
The story comes alive when we look inside.
A new adventure there in your life.
There in your eyes.
It’s just beginning.
Feel your heart beat faster.
Reach out and find your happily ever after.
The battles, the stories, the losses and all the glories
We’re changed by the way we live every day
Just look up and reach to the sky.
We all have the courage to fly
We can fly, we can fly, we can fly, you can fly, you can fly
The story comes alive
When we look inside
A new adventure there in your life
There in your eyes
It’s just beginning.
Feel your heart beat faster
Reach out and find your (repeat 2 times)
Reach out and find your happily ever after.
