Happy Wednesday Main Streeters! It’s time for our weekly chat, lets get to it!
Last weekend I was on a mission…… oh yes, a mission for Tangled lantern photos. I knew the photo opportunity in the Tangled area at Magic Kingdom was only for a limited time, so I HAD to make sure I got over there. So, Magic Kingdom was on the to do list last Saturday, of course. The weather was beautiful, not hot at all, sunny skies. Florida winters are truly beautiful, nothing like we experienced in Michigan, that’s for sure! We ate lunch at Captain Cook’s at the Poly before heading over. The walk up over there is really nice, and the food is good. Plus, you can get 20% off if you’re an annual passholder, so it’s even better! The Magic Kingdom was so, so busy on Saturday. The wait times were huge, even for smaller rides and such, but it didn’t matter to me, I needed to be there. I needed some lantern pictures. At dusk, we headed over towards the Tangled area, because that’s where the photos get taken at. There were a ton of people waiting, I was shocked. No one knew what time the picture taking began, or where to stand, so it was just a mob of people waiting. Once the Cast Members came out, with their camera and of course the lantern prop, people sort of went nuts. Some had waited over there for two hours, just to ensure they could get their picture taken! We happened to be standing in the right spot, so we didn’t have to wait long, but the line was pretty big. I hope Disney decides to keep this around, being that it’s so popular. The Tangled lantern photo spot is supposed to end on March 15th. I’m glad I got mine.
We’ve been busy working of course, there’s always something to do. My low carb diet sort of fell by the wayside, I had some cheat snacks and I’m not happy with myself, but what can you do? Try again I suppose. Get more exercise too. I’m my own worst critic, no one has to make me feel bad, I do a good job on my own. The struggle is real! On Monday, I got a little extra exercise and headed out to Epcot by myself! I never go to the parks alone, so this was a first. My reason for going, was because my friend Heather was in town, and it had been years since I’ve seen her. Heather was one of my Michigan friends back in the day, who also relocated years ago to a new state, so we had even more in common. Back in our twenties, before kids, we used to have so much fun. Heather and my other Michigan girls, Paula and Michelle (yes the ones who come to the meet ups) are people who I have so many fond memories with. You know someone is a true friend when you haven’t seen them in years, but you pick up like no time had passed. I’m so glad I was able to see her. We’re hoping to get our old gang back together in Michigan later this year!
From 1999…. (me, Paula, Heather and Michelle)
Heather and I on Monday….
I have so many great memories from Michigan, that was all I knew for the majority of my life. I miss my family and friends. Florida memories have been pretty good thus far too. It feels like two different lives, or like watching a movie of someone else’s life, not your own. Two different worlds for sure. So, some may wonder what’s up with me and my obsessive need for lantern photos…. Well, Tangled is one of those movies that gave me extra inspiration when I needed it. The message is good, that your life can really “start” when you decide that you’re ready. Maybe not even ready per say, just at a turning point in your life where you’re ready to take some risks. That’s what this whole journey with TMSM has been like. It’s surreal truly…. but it’s worth all of it because of the people we’ve met along the way. More on that soon… something else is coming! So that’s it for this weeks. As always, thank you SO much for keeping up with us each and every Wednesday, it’s appreciated. Until next time, sending you lots of love, blessings and pixie dust! See ya real soon! ~M
