The Super Bowl And Disney

February 5, 2017 ,

Today, Super Bowl Sunday, is a holiday for so many people.  A lot of people, football fans or not, will be attending parties to either watch the game, socialize, see the commercials or watch the halftime show.  Super Bowl LI will feature the NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons vs. the AFC Champion New England Patriots.

Seems like a lot of the talk I keep hearing on tv and such is, how will Lady Gaga do for the halftime show?  Rumors floating about her being on the roof, Beyonce performing, drones lighting up the stadium,  and if she will make a political statement.  No matter what, Lady Gaga is a great performer and I’m sure she will do wonderfully.  If anything, people will be talking about it after and for days to come.

In speaking about her performance for the big stage today, Lady Gaga said “I’ve been planning this since I was 4, so I know exactly what I’m going to do. For me, it’s all about giving to the fans and bringing people together that wouldn’t normally come together.”

Over the years, the Walt Disney Company, has been involved in a handful of the halftime shows, let’s take a look at them.

  • Super Bowl XXI (January 25, 1987)

  • Super Bowl XXIX (January 29, 1995)

  • Super Bowl XXXIV (January 30, 2000)

Over the years, the shows have gotten much better and honestly, the last one Disney was involved with, from 2000 is my personal favorite.

I hope everyone has a great day.  To both teams, good luck and congratulations on making it to the big game.  Football is the biggest of team sports and requires each part of the team in order to win the game.  Have fun today everyone, whether you enjoy the game, commercials, food or halftime it’s a day meant to be entertaining.
