In 1971 for it’s first New Year’s Eve, the Magic Kingdom held it’s first “Magic Kingdom New Year’s Eve Party.” Tickets, which included admission, entertainment, hats and noisemakers, were $7.50 in advance and $9.00 the night of the party.  In park entertainment for the party was provided by Tommy Roe and bandleader Bob Crosby. There was also an event at the Contemporary which featured singer Patti Page. The park was open until 2am on New Year’s Eve.
