Well, it’s Wednesday night! You know what that means….. it’s time to see what’s happening down here in Florida! I hope you’re all doing well and ready to chat!
As usual, things have been busy here. Sometimes we get so busy, I forget what day it is or what I’m supposed to be doing when I first wake up in the morning. I hate that, but I know things will settle down after the holidays. Last week I had finished a huge project, one that I’ll be telling you about soon, and the fog started to lift a little. I seem to always put so much pressure on myself, but once I set my mind to something, I know I can get things done. Maybe I work best under pressure? Anyhow, Friday night we had friends over for pizza and snacks, and they brought an early Christmas gift, the cute wine glass above! That was a nice surprise, and after such a stressful week, it was much needed. It’s getting down to the wire….. Christmas is just a few weeks away, and there are things I want and need to do, and time is running out. One thing on that list, was going to Epcot to see their Christmas decorations and such!
Even though the Magic Kingdom is my favorite park at the Holidays, Epcot really runs a close second place with how well they decorate. I can’t believe it took us this long to go over there, but when life gets hectic, it’s hard to make time. We strolled around, took advantage of the various photopass Cast Members for family pictures, went on Soarin’ and Spaceship Earth, took photos of the Christmas tree (which is beautiful) and other festive sights… and just had a really nice evening. We stayed around to watch Illuminations because they had the special finale for Christmas, and it’s truly beautiful. The Candlelight Processional was going on with Whoopi Goldberg as the host, but it was so crowded at the pavilion, we just watched from afar. The Holidays Around the World they do at Epcot is a lot of fun, make sure to get the passport book they offer, it helps! All in all, it was a great time. We hadn’t had a full family outing in awhile, so it was much needed.
Sunday was our usual catch up day on things around the house, plus the Detroit Lions were on tv here, so it was an added bonus! They’re in first place by the way, knock on wood! Lets not jinx that! On Monday we had lunch at the Animal Kingdom Lodge with David and Cathy, our sponsors at David’s DVC Rentals, so that was nice. While we were there, we decided to wander around a bit and get pictures of their Christmas decor, which was of course, beautiful. Disney does Christmas so well, truly. Every place we’ve visited across Disney property, has been done up so nice for the season. Yes, it’s warm here and doesn’t “feel” like Christmas, but what can you do? You can’t have everything I suppose! Besides, the sun is better than below freezing temps and snow. Speaking of…..
Christmas is almost here, and that means we’ll be going back to the frozen tundra, aka Michigan. Time is going to go by fast, and I know I have a ton to do before then. I haven’t even started Christmas shopping, found someone to watch my cat, found our winter clothes to pack, or gotten extra info together for blogs and such while we’re gone. Going home takes a lot of preparation, but to me, it’s worth it. I’m looking forward to seeing my parents, brother and sister in law, my Gram, and friends. That’s the reason it’s worth it. I can’t imagine being anyplace else for Christmas, it wouldn’t be the same. So, that means I have to get myself in gear, because we’ll be leaving in no time! We’ve also been crafting for our Etsy shop, extra Christmas travel money is helpful, so we have that going on too. Busy stuff! That being said, I have to get back to work, so that’s it for this weeks update! No matter how busy we get, I always make myself stop and take time to do this blog each Wednesday, I haven’t missed one week in 2 1/2 years, and I so appreciate you reading it! Until next time, sending you lots of hugs, blessings and pixie dust…. See ya real soon! ~M
