TMSM’s Adventures in Florida Living ~ Christmas AND Meet Up Time!

Happy Wednesday Everyone! It sure has been a busy week, but I hope you’re all doing well. We’ve made it through election season, thank God, and now we can look forward to some fun. How about some Christmas cheer and our meet up weekend? Let’s chat!

Last Friday night, the new projection show, Once Upon a Time, made it’s debut at the Magic Kingdom. We headed out early because I wanted to catch the Castle lighting as well, plus take in the beautiful Christmas decorations. No matter how many times I see the holidays change at Walt Disney World, it never gets old. As we pulled up in the Monorail, I could see that the Christmas tree was up, and I couldn’t wait to get in the park to see it all. The seasonal decor was pretty much the same as last year, but it’s breathtaking. Like with Halloween, Disney really does Christmas right! Just amazing!

After we did some picture taking, we went up to the Castle to watch Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire, as they had their holiday additions too. Afterwards, we took a walk over to Starbucks to get a drink, then it was time to go back to grab a spot for Elsa’s castle lighting. It was pretty crowded, as I assumed it would be. Seeing that whole process, and watching Cinderella Castle light up section by section is pretty overwhelming. I was doing a live feed for it, so I did my best to NOT cry in front of everyone, like I did at the last Electrical Parade. I did good! It’s nice to be able to share these experiences with our readers, I really enjoy that. We stayed near the Partners Statue and waited around for Wishes, then waited even more because Once Upon A Time was starting soon. I swear, we didn’t leave Main Street the entire time we were there! About 10 minutes before the new show was to start, it started to rain. It was COLD rain, believe it or not, and it rained hard. People started to scatter, but not me. I told the kids to run into the Emporium for cover, and I stood out there waiting for the show. To say I got soaked was an understatement. The CM’s were saying the show was going on, even in the bad weather, so it’s my job to stick it out. My hands were soaked, so was my phone, but I did my best to get video, I’ll link it below! Like I said earlier this week, Once Upon A Time is nicely done, but I’m going to miss Celebrate the Magic. Old habits die hard. All in all it was a pretty successful evening at the Magic Kingdom, we got a lot done.

Saturday we had planned to go back to the Magic Kingdom to try to catch the new show, minus rain, but something came up and it derailed our day. Sometimes life happens, so we roll with it. On Sunday we started pulling out our Christmas decorations. Hey, Disney did it, so we can too! The main reason that I wanted to decorate the house, is because this coming weekend, I’m having house guests! My two best girlfriends, Paula and Michelle, are coming in for our site meet up, and they’re staying with me! I like to have the house all fixed up when we have company, even if we don’t have it often. So, the house has some Christmas cheer for my friends, that’s a good thing. Speaking of friends….. our BIG TMSM MEET UP is on Saturday! I’m so excited!

A lot of preparation and planning goes into our meet ups each year, and this week is a busy one for us. I can’t believe the day is almost here! In addition to my “sisters” from Michigan, we have a couple of our staffers coming to town, Susanne and Autumn, plus a lot of friends we’ve met through TMSM, and I’m really excited. We ordered new buttons to pass out at the Magic Kingdom during the meet up, see above, but I’m hoping I have enough. Last year we had roughly 150 Main Streeters come see us throughout the day, and I really don’t know what to expect this year. What I know for sure though, is that I’m truly humbled and honored that we’re able to have these big “parties” each year. So, if you’re going to be at the Magic Kingdom this Saturday, November 12, be sure to stop and say hello at some point! Meeting the people who support what we do is the best, truly, and I can’t wait.

That’s it for this week! If you can’t be at our meet up this weekend, be sure to follow along on social media under hashtags #tmsm, #tmsmmeetup and #themainstreetmouse. I’m planning to run an Instagram contest too so stay tuned. When we talk next week, I’ll be sure to give you the rundown of our day! Until then, sending you lots of hugs, blessings and pixie dust! See ya real soon! ~M

  1. Thanks so much for sharing Michelle, I love seeing & hearing about your family enjoying Disney. We will be about a week & a half after your meet up, maybe another time. I will still be wearing my TMSMN shirt just to show people my Disney Side! Have a great time.
