Today it was announced that runDisney would be making some big changes in their practices. Starting with the 2016 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend runners will have access to the event guide on all digital devices. These new digital guides will be mobile friendly and will be updated regularly with race information.
The biggest change that announced was that the medals for 5k events will be changing. Until now the medals given out at the 5k events were actually rubber medallions not “metal medals” but they will now be metal. The first metal 5k metal medal will debut at the 2016 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. (This change may help explain the price increase in the registration fee many were noticing for upcoming runDisney 5ks.) 
Disney released images of three upcoming 5k medals. The Disneyland 5k will feature The Country Bears, the Mickey’s Holiday 5k will have Mickey and Minnie in a holiday theme, and the Captain America 5k will be Captain’s Shield.
